my fish has little white specks on his body but it's not ich becuase they aren't 3-d like specks of salt. More like spots on his scales like spots on a dogs fur. I think he might also have Hole-In-Head diases because he has holes above his eyes and and following down his spine. His gills are moving fast, he has clamped fins, and he is a Parrot Cichlid. He lives with another Parrot Cichlid and 2 cleaner fish. They live in a 20 gallon tank and I'm going to get a 50 gallon for them as a Christmas gift. The other Parrot Cichlid has clamped fins also, I tried putting in fungus clear tablets because it helps them with stress and isn't that what clamped fins mean? help!!!! please!!!!!! Is it fatal?? I don't want them to die!!! :(

I just got a betta fish and I think they are so beautiful. I was just wondering what else can you feed them besides just the betta fish food? I know they must get tired of just eating those little pellets, so I would like to know something else they could eat.

Are there any brackish water algae eaters? I have a brackish tank with puffers, they are messy eaters and the tank always gets dirty and full of algae really fast.

please help, i dont know what to do.
i have a fish tank with a castle in it as a feature, it has pond lights inside it to make it look good.
My problem is, my big blackmoore went missing inside the tank, and we found her stuck inside the castle...
When we let her out, we noticed she looks burnt in places from the lights. Especially around her eyes. Is she blind now? Will she be ok? Her scales look burnt in places and she isnt moving her tail much....
please, any advice to help my fish would be great.

My research has gathered the following: 0-ammonia, 0-nitrites, <20.1-nitrates, 20-gallon+ tank. I need to know the salinity as it is a brackish fish, pH, and temperature range. Any other information will be greatly appreciated as I am new to puffers. The puffer is a juvenile Green Spotted Pufferfish. (T. Nigroviridis).

I have a submersible powerhead in my 55 gallon tank. I use a tube attached to a sponge to use it as a McGuyvered mechanical sponge filter. This provides very notable filtration inside of my tank, and reduces filter replacements by 50% or more.

The problem I'm having is keeping it in a good place. If I keep it too low to the bottom of my tank, the powerhead sucks up sand, this for me is simply not going to take place. So right now its near the surface of the water, but its ugly and easily noticable. I'd like to hide it behind a live plant that grows about halfway up my aquarium. Though to hide it behind the plant, would again, suck up sand.

Directly my question is:
Can I turn a powerhead horizontally opposed to vertically without seizing the magnetic motor inside of it? Gravity isnt my strong point, and I believe its worth considering in this case...

Like the fish where in the tank at the time. Ahh i really hope my stupid mistake doesn't kill my fish...
