Your betta will be fine for a few days by himself. He doesn't need to eat every day and will be fine for up to 4-5 days. Just give him a nice big meal before you leave, and make sure his water is clean while you're gone.
Definitely don't get one of those "vacation feeding blocks" - your betta likely won't eat it and it'll just foul up the water.
If you are turning off the heat, make sure he has a working heater, as bettas need 76-80F water to be healthy.

Probably best to do nothing. A healthy fish can easily withstand a week without food. If there is any chance your son may overfeed the betta during your absence, it would be better to not feed at all. Otherwise, no more than once a day or every other day.
Hope that helps

Beta or commonly known Fighting fish don't need a lot of feeding, can leave it alone for few days without food is ok. Just feed it enough before you leave and feed immediately when you returns, will be fine!

nicely before everything you're conserving him in a cage no longer a fish tank it quite is a undertaking. JK i'm getting what you mean. How long have you ever had the fish for? How in many circumstances do you alter the water? now and back all they choose is a acceptable water exchange. playstation To the guy bellow they do no longer stay in Corn fields. it quite is Rice patties the place the water is approximately one to 2 ft deep. particular they might stay in a puddle till the rain comes yet they do no longer stay in this completely.

We use the vacation blocks when we go away and it's fine. It doesn't cloud up the water and our Betta doesn't eat much off it anyway. If you are very scared, you can have someone come to feed him in the middle of your vacation time.
Make sure you clean his tank before you leave though!

He doesn't NEED food, but if you want to be on the safe side, you can always go to your local pet store, and get an automatic feeder, pretty easy to use.
