Goldfish breathe from the top, so the wider the top the better, Rule of thumb is 1 gallon of water per 1-inch of fish length, So if you want to keep them long, You're gonna have to put them in an aquarium. The aerator, won't hurt, But isn't necessary..

Honestly they need 10-20 gallon tank with a filter. Bubble devices aren't really needed if you have filter causing surface motion. Plus bubbling air through water doesn't aerate the water much. (It's the bubbles hitting the surface of the water that does most of the aeration.)

I tend to view goldfish as small pond fish as they get huge, and are very dirty. A goldfish will live for over a decade so don't impressed when someone claims their goldfish lived for a year or 2 in a bowl. It's like person living to be 7-14 years old.

Goldfish shouldn't be in a small fishbowl. They are very dirty and will quickly get sick and die in a small bowl. I believe they need something like 10 gallons per goldfish to be healthy. And they need filtration as well.

Contrary to popular belief goldfish cannot be kept for long in a bowl. Most people don't realize that goldfish can get 10-12" long and require a large tank.

They will easily live 20 years if cared for properly. Putting them in a bowl is a sure death sentence for them.

No. Goldfish should not even be in a bowl. Even the smaller goldfishes(fancys) need 20 gallons PER FISH.

No you do not for this particular type of fish, but it couldn't hurt. I had five goldfish in a bowl for quite a long time. Although thay all eventually died two of them lasted about a year and I just keep their bowl clean. So I don't find it necessary for goldfish.

It will help because aerator are not just for putting oxygen in the water but helps the water keep useable longer.

depends on the size of the bowl. Gold fish like cool water and require alot of oxygen. make sure you are using chlorine remover when cleaning the bowl which if very small u will need to clean often. do not over feed them. the more room they have the bigger they will grow.
