Someone said the amount should be the size of your pinky fingernail...that seems like too little. I've been feeding them more...but how much is too much!?!?! They're not dead yet so that's a good sign. Help!

Last Christmas I got a 30 gallon tank and got some small Oscars. One Tiger and one Albino. It has been about a year and my Oscars are huge! About 7 inches and all they do is eat, and eat, and eat some more large gold fish.... I didn't realize how big, how much they would eat, and how dirty the tank gets. I think I want to start over and get all new smaller non carnavore fish. What is the best way to get rid of my Oscars?? Besides selling them cuz I know I won't get very much for them.

it sounds like goldfish really get things dirty quick and get too big to have that many in a 10 gal...im thinking that cold water fish may be more hearty than tropical....i would like to have at least 4, 5 fish...everyone has a different opinion about how much space a fish needs. thanks.

for a couple of days now my beta has been just sitting on the bottom of his bowl, he still comes up to eat and breath but other than that he does not do much else, and when he does swim around it is rather slow, he is in a 1 1/2 gallon tank, water temp is standard conditions, and has %50 water clean out each week, please let me know if it is sick or just depressed?

I want to buy an algae eater because my tank is dirty and I don't have time to keep up with it all the time. (Hence the gold fish as my only personal pet). However, I don't want to kill my gold fish, I've become quite attached. =P So I'm asking to make sure I don't kill my fish due to ammonia poisoning. I had an algae eater before and it died. If you have any idea as to why THAT may have happened, I'd love answers for that too. =) Thank you!!

They are about 1 inch long. I've tried to feed them goldfish pellets but they are too big for my fish. The betta fish pellets are small and it will be the perfect size to munch on.
