Marine tanks are tough, especially if they are small. When the tanks are big (over 50 gallons) it gets easier because then presumably you have all necessary equipment (skimmer etc) and the water stays much more stable.
In a small tank (40 gallons or less) the water parameters (salinity, ammonia, temperature etc) fluctuate too much, making it difficult to support even small fish.
Marine tanks are also expensive; without all the proper equipment and liverock etc, it's hard to make it all work.

it may not be a bad idea to stick with FW for now, it's a lot easier. Then when you have 1500$ to blow, get a big saltwater reef tank :)

Or be more specific with the problems you're having? I'm sure we'd be happy to try to help.

Marien Tanks are a little bit of work!! I have 2 a 38 gallon and a 150 gallon marien tank!! What problems are you having!! I would love to help you out! The main problem people have with marien tanks is trying to put fish into them to soon. You have to season the tank for a while then put in damsels for about a month before you get the more expensive fish. It takes more time but well wworth it!!

Aquarium fish are the #1 most popular pet in the US and only about 10% of them are marine. Marine tanks are the most challenging, however, the larger your tank the easier it is .

Yes people keep fishes as pets. If you are wanting to get rid of them, you might advertise on the web or in your local paper or place an add up at the petshop.

Fish are the gateway pet... :)

Most people who have fish go on to get other pets as well. That's why most Pet stores sell 'em instead of dogs and cats.
