Fish (Pets) - July 2006

I want to make a two foot high shelf for my aquarium. The tank is 48"x20"x14" (length,height,depth). Blocks with be stacks of 3 high, 3 stacks across, covered by redwood planks. The stone blocks are the kind used in construction. It will be in my patio, under a partly covered overhang. Will the blocks crumble over time under the weight of the tank, which i heard will be 600 lbs when full? Will it hold up in a small earthquake? Will the redwood planks give way over time due to being outdoors and subject to a little splash or drip of water occassionally?

How do I get my beta fish to eat?

Can anyone help? What is wrong with my fish?

My eighteen month old Black Moore is poorly.

It had a bad eye on Saturday - all pus and blood inside it so i put the treatment in that I was recommended (i can't remember the name) but then a day later the eye had a white sort of fur on it and since then the eye seems to have 'fallen out' and all that is left is the eye socket.

I know it's an odd question but it is in pain and what can i do to help it.

My mother has suggested it may be kinder to 'put it out of its misery' but I don't know what to do.

Any suggestions?

Betta going berserk?!?

In the last week my crown tail beta has gotten more aggresive towards everything. If you walk by his tank he will go after you. Sometimes he'll flay his colored gills out when one of us feeds him. There are no other fish in his tank and no mirrors so what the heck is going on? Do they get more aggresive as they age?

Can the little white worms kill my mated angelfish and are they a threat to humans?

I asked the question about the little white worms my angelfish tank has..........well 24 hours after the eggs was laid i removed the parents, so they couldn't have ate the fry. Could the worms have ate the fry?

what are the tiny white worms crawling on the bottom and sides of my baby angelfish tank?

My pair of mated angelfish laid eggs about a week ago and some of the eggs hatched, i seen the fry wiggling on the bottom of my tank about 4-5 days after they were laid and oneday i looked in the tank and didn't see any fry so i pulled out a piece of slate that was laying on the bottom of the tank to see if the fry was trapped under it and as i was looking closely i seen little tiny worm things crawing on the bottom and sides of the tank. I had been crumbling up some angelfish food int tiny pieces so they could eat until i could get them some brine shrimp.Could that be the reason for the little white worms?

Does anyone have a passion for their fish and their aquarium.?

I find that I am really likeing the aquarium I have, and the fish world is really intresting. How else really cares for their fish, cuz I do. Some people just like lookin at them bout I found I like to learn everything about them, and there is alot to learn. How else feels like they like fish like most people like dogs.

Where can I get a Half Moon in Singapore?
