Im so sorry.. My sis had a pet goldfish -- Pepper -- who passed away 9 months ago... the whole family still misses him terribly... so I can understand your pain.
I don't think you can ever forget someone... or something you really care about... I guess you just learn to live with the pain. But it does get better. My mum n sis still keep a picture of the fish in her cupboard. I guess you could do the same. At least be glad you had him for 6 lovely years -- we had Pepper for 2years.. even carried him from 1 country to another when we moved - cross-continent, in a plane!!! Just 1 little fish -- and people said it was foolish.... but noone can really understand unless they have actually cared for and had a pet like that.

You miss it, but please understand that it was afterall an animal. Try to distract you attention to something else or or get engaged in some other hobby. If you are too much fond of fishes try to get some more varities of beutiful fishes to your aquarium that may attract your attention.

Always realize that since you are human the chances of out living nearly every animal you could want are nearly 100% with the exception of maybe some sort of tortoise.

Yes, I can.

Send me the fish and I will raise him from the dead.

But beware! Such acts sometimes have dire consequences.
