He is a 4 y/o boxer and this is the second time he has been sick in the last week or so. We also have a puppy that was sick 2 weeks ago. They both vomit multiple times when they are sick and the older dog is not having regular BM's. He is lethargic and wont eat.

We just moved into a new house and the water has a odd odor (cat urine smell)
There was a ice storm a week prior to the sickness's and I have noticed the dogs chewing on the fallen branches.

Should i take him to the vet?

Hi all! I just got 2 pug pups and the female has a cherry eye. I would like to have the eye fixed when I have her spayed but she is only 12 weeks old. I have read articles that contradict each other. One says to do it at 5-7 months and the other say earlier. Since pugs are prone to respiratory difficulties, I am worried that her youth may compound the problem. On the other hand, the pup and her brother seem to have difficulty leaving the cherry eye alone :) Does anyone have any experience with spaying a young pup? Is it recommended? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My father's female pit-bull shih-tzu cross, approx. 3yrs old, has recently begun biting my elderly father and his mother-in-law. The dog was rescued by my father's wife from an abusive owner. The dog had medical eye problems, now corrected by surgery. The dog is very strong, and cannot be walked by my father (the dog is not obedient). She is let to relieve herself in the garage (because she's too strong to be walked).

My feeling is that this dog is inappropriate for my father's family, and that the biting is a result of the dog not being exercised regularly and also not being properly trained. (Their former dog was good as gold with the trainer and unruly at home. Owners not well-trained either!) I also feel that the circumstances are cruel for the dog. My instinct is that they should get rid of this dog and choose a dog suitable for their situation (they need some help here too, previously having chosen a german shepherd-rottweiler cross).

My dog whos 3 now follows me evreywhere! i know he loves me and just wants to be beside me at all times, im the one in the family who feeds him and walks him etc so i know he thinks im the leader or his mom haha well i love how he follows me its just he does it too much, and i really want him to be more independent.
When hes sleeping on the couch and i get up to get a class of water he comes with me when i walk to the door or go to my room hes always behind me.
Is there a way i can get him to be more independent? do any of you share similar stories and have ideas or which i could use?.
Thanks for the answers =)!.

Does anyone else have a dog that shakes it's ears when you are sleeping to get your attention?? My lab does this to me almost every morning. Her ears are fine, she's just strange I guess. I wonder what other things mean in "dog talk".

GOD DOG

When God had made the earth and sky, the flowers and the trees, He then made all the animals, the fish, the birds and bees. And when at last He'd finished not one was quite the same. He said I'll walk this world of mine and give each one a name. And so He traveled far and wide and everywhere He went, A little creature followed Him until it's strength was spent. When all were named upon the earth and in the sky and sea, The little creature said, "Dear Lord, there's no name left for me." Kindly, the Father said to him, "I've left you to the end. I've turned my own name back to front and called you DOG, my friend." - - - Author Unknown.

We do not know if my dog is really pregnant or going thorugh a flase pregnancy. She is already about 60 days along, she tries to rip up paper, and shes really tired. She also breathes louder than normal. When we check for puppies moving inside her though, we can't really feel much happening. If she does have puppies we know it will be a small litter (2 or 3 puppies). Does this sound like a real pregnancy or a false pregnancy? Or can you not tell just by reading about the dog?

Thanks in advance!

My Dobe is a year and a couple months. Im trying to get her intrested in sporting like Frisbee. Does anyone have any suggestions? She rarely catches it and becomes disintrested within a few minutes with idea. She just watches it fly by then waits for it to hit the ground . She would rather chase around a basket ball or some other simple game all day. Any tips to make her keep focas? Or can dogs be like people and just flat out not like a sport like we do?

Reputible breeders sell on a spay and neuter contract. They are against these ' Designer Breeds ' So where do these Designer breed breeders get their foundation stock? If they don't get them from reputible breeders, cause they would refuse to be part of the mutt thing. Are they starting their foundation with backyard bred, puppymill, petstore foundation stock?

Wouldn't that make their dogs even more inferior than what we perceive them to be? If 2 breeds bred is bad, then wouldn't 2 badly bred breeds, bred be a recipe for disaster?
