The shampoo that i use on my dogs is made by a company called "Kelco industries". The shampoo's are used for dogs shown in the show ring at the AKC dog shows too. The shampoo's are all natural and they don't use any harsh chemicals.

My favorites are "Wild Animal", Dirty Dog" & "Oats fur Coats" shampoo and "Ultra silk" and "Apple oats" conditioner, and De-mat conditioning spray. These shampoos make my dogs smell so cleans and make their fur soft.

You can probaly purchase these line of products at a grooming salon in your area.

If you can't find that kind my second favorite is made by Bio Groom. "Econo Groom" and "Super white" are my favorites. I think you can purchase it at Petco.

Do not use human shampoo. We have a different PH balance and our shampooo will dry out their skin causing your dog to itch severley. Don't use shampoo's made by "Four Paws" either. Four paws uses harsh chemicals.

Well there are all different dog shampoos that work great. I would recommend to go to a pet store near you, and get what you think looks good. There are many different kinds that give dogs a nice shiny coat. Look around. You will find something you like!
Hope I helped.

For the most part any dog shampoo is good. human shampoo has a diffferent PH factor which can dry out teh dogs skin causing skin problems ( It doesn't turn the hair yellow)
As far as a conditioner ( I learned theis at the NY school of Dog Grooming) put a inch of Downy Fabric softner ( you can choose sent) and put it in a gallon of water ( I save a gallon milk jug for this) Use as a conditioner.

I love Earth Bath Orange scented.

Be sure you use a DOG shampoo, human shampoo is much too harsh for dogs skin. Try just going to the biggest pet store in your neighborhood and giving everything they have the 'sniff test'.

Here's a tip, get no-tears baby shampoo to do their face!

ps - I just went back and read all the answers above me - DO NOT USE HUMAN SHAMPOO on your dog! It's way too harsh and takes much too long to rinse out propery. The baby shampoo is the one exception. Like dog shampoo, it is made to be very gentle and to rinse out easily.

we have a mastiff/lab mix. we used vanilla sugar dog shampoo on him and it smelled great, well until he rolled in the dirt again. this stuff smelled soooo good that my 4 year old daughter decided to use it one night and now it is all gone. by the way her hair smelled great and looked good too. it is a tad expensive, like 10 or 12 bucks. we got it at petco. there was alot of different fragrances.

they make many types of dog shampoos that you can get most pet stores. you don't have to use dog shampoo but i would recommend it because its easier on their sensitive skin. or you could always use baby shampoo ;) worked well for my dogs and makes their fur so soft and smooth! also at pet stores they make doggie perfume spray similar to the body sprays you can buy for yourself at walmart or other stores. they make some really good smelling doggie sprays that you can spray on your doggie after you bathe, dry and brush you dog. they smell great and i think your spacial friend will appreciate the extra gesture ;) good luck hope i was of some help!

I have to use a special antihistamine shampoo on my dog, his skin is very sensitive. Doesn't smell the greatest, but anything else really irritates his skin.
