how much should i pay a house sitter if they're going to watch my house for a week? They will have to feed my cats, my dog, and my fish. They will need to walk the dog three times a day and clean the cat box once a day. What would you pay someone to do all of that?

note: they get to stay at our house and we'll pay for the meals (they're in college so this to them is a great deal)

I need help. My poor dog has bladder stones. I cannot afford the surgury and I can't afford expensive food/medication, and I don't fully agree with a lot of chemicals. I am looking for a natural way to disolve her stones. They are small enough that they are passing, but there are many. She has been passing them pretty regularily and it's really upsetting for the whole family.

I have tried to get into the K9 Kidney Diet group, but I don't meet their requirements.

I have heard Cranbery juice works, and that cooking my own food works to prevent them.

But I am looking for a way to naturally disolve the stones. There has to be something out there. Herbal, homeopathic, ANYTHING! my puppy is suffering and needs your help!!

I have a 7 month old boxer puppy that is limping around. The night before he played with my families other two dogs and everything was fine. I woke up in the morning to him limping around and he will barely put his foot down sometimes. When i touch his knee he gets angry. So i know something happened with it i just don't know what. I have an appointment with a vet in two days but i am worried he may have pulled a ligament or something. Is there any way i can tell or anything i can do at home besides just let him rest. Also i have noticed no swelling put he could and i just can't tell.

I'm planning to either buy a Brittany or Golden Retriever. Does anyone know about when is the best age to buy a puppy? I want to buy it young so it will get use to being around children and small animals and easier to train. Thanks.

Now that I'm seeing the cost for purebred dogs, and their medical problems, I'm thinking of adopting a puppy from a shelter.
I've been looking through a few shelters in my area, and I've seen a few healthy, active, mixed breed I like. Are there any downsides (other than not knowing what their parents were like and if they had shots, health problems, etc. and not knowing what they will be like when they are older) to adopting a shelter puppy?

I have two puppies they are both 8weeks old (siblings).
They tend to pee in the kennel when I am out . So with that said, they are stinky and sticky. The female is black so you don't see it but the male is white and turns yellow when they pee in the kennel. Yesterday I gave them both a bath and they are already all peed up and yellow. I wiped them with a wet paper towel but that did not help.

Today I am going to pet smart to buy some doggy wipes. I hope they help.
I know that I can not give them a bath more than once a week because of the protective layer on the coat and because it can cause their skin to get dry, which is not healthy for them.. Their vet said not to bath them too much and that they should be bathed every 4-6 weeks or once a month.

What else can I do? Does anyone have any advice and tips for me?

Thank you so much in advance.

I just got my EBD and he is adorable, however i see that he and my shih tzu are fighting (not a lot just a little bit). Any ideas on how to make them get along? Also i have trained my shihtzu to go outside in the balcony, how can i make it work so maybe they can go outside together? Also is it normal for the EBD to have really soft stool? Thanks in advance!! And Happy Holidays!

decide which pups in your litter are show quality and which ones are pet quality? I know that if they are born with disqualifying faults they are sold as pets, how can you tell which ones are going to have those qualities when they get older? For example, if a breed standard says that a dog is to be between 10 - 11 inches at the withers, how do you know that this particular pup will not be smaller or larger? Is it a guarantee that they would be able to place well?

my little girls dog has been hospitalized for 10 days, she was very very ill, she almost died. Today she is being released and the vet said she will permanently need to be on a gastro diet. I am wondering if I can cut the cost of the food by making it at home or finding a cheaper brand. I have 3 other dogs, and it would be easier to switch them all to the new food than try to separate them all at meal times.

OK im research this subject heavy for 6 months on and off. Bottom line Dogs and Humans are different...a Dog stomach acid is allot strong than human, hmmm wonder why they eat raw dead animals in the wild and are perfectly fine. BUt yes they are wild they a big chance of getting disease from a bite but not from eating meat the dog digestive system moves so fast along with the strong stomach acid there is no way for bacteria or disease to spread. it kills it instantly. Now you wonder why when u take ur dog to vet they may say its the food thats made them sick (Dog Food) of course it is...we don't eat dog food do we? no...you know whats really in dog food? do you know if the vet that ok are even reputable Vets...Dog food = A diet that contains poor-quality meats, additives, and other ingredients dogs should not ingest.. so my question is why do u believe raw diet is bad for dogs? now u heard this...and feel free my friends Google "Barf's Diet", Let me know what u think, of what u read!

Hypothetically, what are the effects of crating a dog and only turning it out for 3 bathroom breaks a day. So, basically 23/hr a day crating, with 2-3 10 minute breaks. Otherwise being crated in a dark quiet room. What are both the short-term and long-term effects?
