I have two puppies they are both 8weeks old (siblings).
They tend to pee in the kennel when I am out . So with that said, they are stinky and sticky. The female is black so you don't see it but the male is white and turns yellow when they pee in the kennel. Yesterday I gave them both a bath and they are already all peed up and yellow. I wiped them with a wet paper towel but that did not help.
Today I am going to pet smart to buy some doggy wipes. I hope they help.
I know that I can not give them a bath more than once a week because of the protective layer on the coat and because it can cause their skin to get dry, which is not healthy for them.. Their vet said not to bath them too much and that they should be bathed every 4-6 weeks or once a month.
What else can I do? Does anyone have any advice and tips for me?
Thank you so much in advance.

To everyone who posted and those who will post.
Please read the whole questions before you respond.
Also, to let every one know. I am with my puppies all day as I am an at home mom. And I am not all with the look and smell then the training. Also, you should always crate a puppies so that they are trained until they get older per their vet and other vets that I have spoken to. I was told not to let them get use to running around until they are older and are properly potty trained.
As for keeping them in the same crate. They scream an cry when I separate them to bath. I will speak with their vet today about the crate situation and if she thinks I should put them in separate crates.
As for putting bedding inside to absorb the pee, I took it out as advised last night. I do not bath my puppies once a week. If you read properly you would already know that.
Thank you.

They are 8 weeks old. They cannot be in crates more than a couple of hours before they will need to go outside for a pee. If you are leaving them longer than that, it's why they are peeing in the crate.
You should have separate crates for them, and the crates shouldn't be so large that the dog feels it's okay to pee in one end of the crate.
If you are gone all day to work or something, you should hire someone to come and take them out thru the day to avoid the peeing in the crates.

Im wondering why you are kenneling a pair of pups in the same crate for long periods? Maybe, you can get an x pen and put that around your crate, so the crate stays dry and clean? Papers on the floor, since you obviously do not have time for them and they can't hold their potty.
My suggestion is that you re home one of these two puppies or at the least give them separate crates. You should rethink your dog ownership capability at this time maybe, waiting until you have time for a puppy would be a better idea. Puppies (unless you are a scumbag petstore owner should never be double crated for long periods) will not learn correct pottying skills while crated like that, and the poor dogs, how horrid to be in someone elses feces and urine cooped up.
EDIT: after clairfying the whole situation, I see that you are not the normal "dog" neglectful person on here asking a question. My apologies for snapping at you and making that assumption.
Please read my email to you. thanks.
also, dog wipes are a waste of money for what you are using them for. They do not remove much as far as odor, stains or dirt.

Most dogs don't like to relieve themselves where they sleep.
Are they both in the the same kennel or is it a crate? If it is a crate and they are both in it then it is too big.Put them in separate, smaller crates.
Another thing you can try is to get one of those collapsible metal fences about 20 inches high,it forms a circle about 3 feet in diameter, and line it with pads until you can get them housebroken.
Hope some of this will help you.

Puppies that young have no bladder control and need to go out a minimum of every 2 hours. They also need their own crate, small enough so they won't pee in it. They should be only able to turn around in the crate.
And bathing them once a week is doing a lot of damage to their skin as well as coat.

You didn't say how big or what kind of dogs they are. My guess is that the crate is to big for them. I have found that it's harder to train pups from the same litter. You also might try separating them. Do you line the crate with anything? That might help some too.

Take them out more frequently. Puppies that young do not have much ability to hold it very long. Putting some kind of bedding in the kennel to absorb liquids might keep dome of it off their fur.

None of my dogs have ever been in a "box". No trouble training them.
Doggie wipes? Puleez, baby wipes are cheaper. What about a wash rag and warm water?
Let the kids out! Watch and observe them. Dogs have "that walk" when they are about to squat to pee and poop. Granted each "walk" has its own presentation. But you have to see it before it happens, then IMMEDIATELY take the dog out and PRAISE the good behavior.
Sounds like you are more concerned about "looks" and "smell" than the proper training of a pup. Send em to me. My 2 goldens would love the company. Heck, there isn't near enough dog hair insulation in my house for this winter.
Great book for you to read, short, consise, easy, intelligible: "Training Your Retriever" forget the author, but do recall he was a monk. Superior techniques.

I would just use baby wipes. You can pick them up at the dollar store usually for one or two dollars for 100 of them. Afterwards use a damp towel to get all the smell and soap off of them. I would get some wee wee pads to get them trained to go on the pads. You can buy oatmeal puppy shampoo. I would get something for sensitive skin.

Put them in a seperate kennel, they need to learn to be more independent, and make sure they do not have exsess room, just enough to lay down and stand up in. Take the puppys out every five to ten minutes.

Put a wee wee pad in the corner so they learn to seperate they're bathroom from they're bedroom. Take them out side often.
