You can use either. I prefer the smell of human shampoo, although dog shampoo is probably better for their skin. We have goldens and I use human shampoo almost exclusively.

Don't use any. The flea and tick shampoo is bad because its not mild and isn't meant for puppies. Human Shampoo will strip the dog's coat of oils and dry out the skin. In the end, just go to the store and get a bottle of dog shampoo. Its not even $10 and you can get a bottle for maybe $3. If you don't, you're only going to end up with more vet bills because the puppy now has a skin condition and is losing fur. <---Not a good thing just go and buy shampoo. If you can't afford it, bring the dog to a no-kill shelter and they'll find it a home where the dog is taken care of.

Human shampoo has chemicals that are harsh on canine skin. Our skin is different than dog skin, and they are so much more sensitive than we are. Buy a puppy shampoo.

You need puppy shampoo. Human skin (and human shampoo) is acidic. Dog skin (and shampoo) is neutral. If you use acidic shampoo on neutral skin, it causes irritation, rashes, dandruff, dry coat, etc. Even baby shampoo is too harsh, you need puppy shampoo.

You should only use shampoo formulated for dogs. You should not bath any dog often and you shouldn't bath your puppy at all unless it's absolutely necessary.

Puppy Shampoo would be best, to insure the delicate skin doesn't dry out.

I just asked my vet the other day what was the best shampoo for my little puppies he said to use Dove body soap (yes the human stuff) this way it will help with any dry skin your puppy might have. just make sure you rinse them really well and get them good and dry.
