We are planning on getting another labrador between 8-9 weeks old for him. im told that if we get a female he might mark his territory to claim his female is that true???

I just seem to here about attacks all too often. I know the owners are sometime to blame but these dogs can just turn at the flick of a switch. I know all dogs are dangerous but the dangerous dogs register has a statistic that these dogs cause more fatalities and attack more than any other dog.

I'm asking this again in hopes of getting more responses
I will be picking up my Papillon puppy next week. He will be 8 weeks old. I'm a little worried about his ears. I have papers which state that he's a purebred, and I know that doesn't mean much but... he's also registered with the AKC. I've seen other papillons that they've bred and they are older but look perfect. I feel like his ears should be a little bigger than they are. His nose looks a bit wide as well (in the pics in the link don't mistake the white near his nose for his nose). Is this normal and will his ears grow as he gets older? He's pretty fuzzy which I like and he's very cute with good markings. His ears are really my only concern. He's only going to be a family pet but I want people to recognize him as a papillon. I already paid for him becuase the pictures of him t really little look very normal. The older picture is him at almost 7 week. (maybe 6 weeks and 5 days.)

I just found out recently that my 1 year old hound/beagle mix has pretty severe hip dysplasia in both hips and he is developing arthritis already. He has a consultation with a surgeon comeing up, but I was wondering if anyone can give their personal experiences after the surgery? Like what to expect, best types of physical therapy etc. He is not a big dog, he is only 43 pounds and he is full grown. He is very active so he does not have any weight problems.

they stayed with us for two months. They night flighted along with some tools and a ring of mine and I woke up to find that she had left her pit bull choke chained to our garage door. Sweet, huh? We have two dogs already, not to mention two small children. The dog is sweet and all, but my m-i-l left her the wrong way. Does anyone know of a pit bull rescue or sanctuary? Or even a nonfighting breeder that would want her? Like I said, she's got a good disposition despite how she was treated, but still upsets the balance. Thanks in advance..

I'm running out of ideas, really. My dog, Lady, Half chow, spits, and whatever else she might be.

She WILL get out, I can't always be there to keep her inside, she always finds a way out. Trust me, thats not a part of the question. It's how to get her in.

So, I'm asking, how can I get her in? She pretty much stays ten feet away from me at all times when she gets out. I can't get near her, and neither can my family or friends can't even get close. Dog treats don't work. Cornering doesn't work, I can't chase after her. I've tired I chase her, then turn around and she'll chase me to run back inside. Drove up in the car, open the door and she'd hop in.

She's figured it all out, it's getting harder and harder each time.
We just let her run around for awhile and she'll come in a hour or so, but now when she comes back, she'll sit in our font yard and we can't get her INSIDE. Our neighbors have two small children. She's not a mean dog, but has a VERY scary bark. I can't let this continue.

My dog had puppies 3 months ago and it looks like she is in heat. I am not sure if I can breed her right now or not. Some people tell me that you have to wait 6 months, but some say "the next time she goes in heat" so please let me know this as soon as possible.

My pomeranian is a little over a year old and she still isn't house trained. I've been trying forever to try and train her. I take her outside often and she goes, but she still will go inside. I put up her food and water, and only feed her once a day and give her water when ever she comes back from being inside. When she goes inside i scold her and she knows that she's not sopposed to do it inside, yet she goes inside anyway. I just don't know what to do anymore.

My boyfriend and I are trying to decide if we should get our year-old border collie neutered. he has exhibited some aggressive behavior at the dog park, unlike our german shorthaired pointer, who is fixed, who is the most gentle dog in the world. I've heard neutering helps with aggressiveness. On the other hand, my boyfriend is afraid it is unethical to neuter him because he "doesn't have a choice," and it will "change his personality." Can someone please tell us some of the pros and cons of neutering? Thank you.
