I know he needs to spend the night in there and while we're away. I also know he needs to spend time in there while we're with him, just so he learns to hold it. How often and for how long?

I boarded my dog at a new place. A few days after she got home she started limping and was lethargic. I took her to the vet and she tested positive for lyme disease.

She is on antibiotics and is fine now, but I can't help blaming the new kennel. Could she have been bitten by a tick from another dog at the kennel and developed symptoms within a week?

My mom's dog peed on the passenger's seat of my car quite a few months ago. I've cleaned it with carpet cleaner from the store and heavy duty grease remover at the carwash. It looks like it has gotten better, but it's not quite gone. What should I use for the best results? The seats are made of some sort of fabric much like a bed sheet, except tougher.

Don't you hate it when posters identify themselves as Vets/Vet Techs/Vet Professionals, etc. but recommend the worst dog food (Pedigree, Purina, Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet) and then also say that Vets don't receive some sort of kickback for recommending the brand of food they sell / carry? And "prove" their statement by stating "I should know, I am / used to be a Vet / Vet Tech"? It's not very comforting for those of us who don't have Vet training / schooling to know we are better educated on this subject just by doing our own research.

My dog(SHL) has biten my wife for the second time in three years. First time was right after our other dog passed away. SHL was wierd for a couple of months afterward. Now, more than 2-1/2 years later, it happened again. We both love the dog too much to destroy it but it's killing us that we have very little option. We know SHL can't be around kids, but she has never bitten anyone else. Anyone have any ideas?

My dog, a labby/Rotty mix, had puppies this morning. They are about 14 hours old.
She had a total of 10 but one died. I just want to prevent that.
She has a runt but she is not rejecting it. She is giving all her puppies atequate attention but I am afarid that one will die. It is her first litter. Can someone tell me what it means when the cry out for a long period of time? And when I pinch some of them lightly the skin stays creased, but it goes back in about 10 seconds(Only about two do that, Some one told me that was a bad sign).
I just need answers. Please.

My sister believes that, and I think it's a bunch of crap. How can their mouths possibly be the cleanest when they drink out of toilet or eat what they eat? Besides, I think I read an article once that said that it's untrue. Mind proving this? Thanks.

How is the dog doing on it? Would you recommend it to others?

I have a deaf dog that is extremely sweet when there's not a lot of other people around but can get nervous/defensive and even aggressive if there's too much stimuli...ie unfamiliar guests, other dogs..etc. She gets lots of exercise and is trained well but some people are recommending dog calming treats or even Prozac when exposed to these situations. I can read her well enough now and I make sure she wears a muzzle when guests are around to avoid bad situations but I worry about when I have to board her for weekend trips and she may become anxious or aggressive while in an unfamiliar place. Any feedback would be appreciated.
