They're both great dogs - Owners that train them to attack (Out of spite, not protection) or fight should be thrown in jail!

Both can be wonderful animals if trained correctly. Pit Bulls, however, are more dangerous in some ways. Pit Bulls have been bred for decades to attack other animals (specifically dogs), and this trait is very much instinct to them. If not trained by a great, experienced trainer/owner, there may be problems with that later on. Pit Bulls also have the strongest bite. Their bite has the most pounds of pressure per square inch than any other dog (not that the German Shepherd Dog is much better ... they came in a close 2nd on that list!).

Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn't going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don't be one of them.

German Shepherd Dogs and Pit Bull Dogs are great breeds. Some people mistreat the dogs and the breeds suffer because of ignorant and abusive owners.
Labrador Retrievers have a higher record of biting than either of these breeds. The difference is that German Shepherd Dogs have been trained for military and police and then ignorant people buy the breed and try to make them mean. There are many responsible owners of the breed. A responsible owner of any breed will have their dog socialized and trained to be safe pets rather than try to make them attack dogs.
With Pit Bulls, the problem is that they were so popularized to be fighting dogs and bait dogs for fighters. Many people adopt the breed to try to look "bad". That doesn't make the breed bad.
There are many, many more people that are responsible owners.
Again, both breeds are wonderful breeds.

I think German shepherds are gorgeous, but I think they bark too much.

Then pit bulls have bad reputations and I wouldn't want to scare people. People would think my dog is going to attack them!

Overall though, I've heard some pit bulls are sweet. I'd probably like a pit bull better.

I dont quite know what you are trying to get at.. ANY dog will attack if they have NO training.. and when I say no training I mean no protection training, no K9 training, no regular everyday training. If a dog is lacking training in even one seemingly insignificant area they can be prone to biting.. For example if you dont socialize your dog with other dogs in the critical stages of puppy development you will have dog aggression later on no matter what breed, pittys do have a high instinctual level of dog aggression thats why its important to train them consistently from a young age, I know about 10 pitty breed dogs personally and they are great with other dogs, no problem at all because they were socialized. My dog however who is a Shepherd mix is extremely dog aggressive because I got him at an older age, and he didnt get the socialization he needed before I got him. It has nothing to do with the breed, and everything to do with the upbringing... I have known many shepherds and many pitty breed dogs and they were all great.. some had more training some had less, and some were a higher risk for biting people because they werent trained or socialized or had aggression problems (dominance, food, toy) it didnt make them evil or bad dogs, all it made them was untrained dogs at risk because of their owners ignorance. In some cases many of the problems dogs have can be corrected by re-training them... Dont be so naive to think that you can trust a dog based on its breed, because you will end up getting bit out of ignorance on your part... you can only trust a dog that has been well-trained, brought up in a good environment by an experienced owner and thats the onlt guarantee you can count on.

pit bulls are generally meaner and better fighters but they don't have to be it depends on the owner's it has had. if they treated it right it will be docile and friendly. if it grew up with another breed that is older it may even act like the other smaller dog. i have seen a pit be mastered by a daschund.

you just have to teach them how to behave my neighbors take care of there dogs but they dont give him a lot of attenion and he's a german shepard like they walk him and stuff so he is a little agressive towards dogs. I have a pit bull even though she has been around many dogs she still doesnt like a lot of them beucaes she is afraid we will like them better so she gets mad and agressive but you have to teach her her place i dont mean yelling or any thing just teach her if she is going to be mean then put her somewhere were she cant get to you so she cant hurt other dogs

I am a cat person, but one day my boyfriend brought home my German Shepard puppy and I have never known a better dog! He has an incrediable personality, and likes to pretend that he is speaking to us. He listens to our friends and family, but would attack on command if told to. He is very loyal, and listens so well I can walk him with out a leash and he stays right next to me. So to answer your question, Pit bulls must be worse.
