My beautiful girl is almost 10 years old. Aside from hip dysplasia, she has no known health problems. She doesn't appear to be sick, but off and on lately, she's had loose stools that are coated in a VERY THICK slime. There has been no change in diet, and we only feed her dog food...NO people treats.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

I am interested in possibly breeding my Yorkie. Not for profit, but because she is in such good health. Could someone please explain to me what goes into it, and some info about it? How it all works? And no, I don't mean the actual putting the two together, for all you sicko's out there. Thankyou in advance for the honest answers I recieve!

Ok, I have been doing some research - my husband grew up "covered in pet hair" and for the longest time told me he only wanted an outside dog or it had to be shaved and I said no way, I'll find a way around this - I think Doodles are it. Does anyone have one of these breeds? A labradoodle or a Goldendoodle - which is what I want? What are their temperments like? Do they really not shed? How trainable are they? How much are they? Are they decent watch dogs? ETC!

My 6 month old King Charles Cavalier x poodle is happiest outside. We live in a townhouse with a rather large yard, the only problem is, at the back of our house there is a nature reserve with a walking track. People constantly walk their dogs along here early in the morning and although my puppy cannot see them, he can hear and smell them and goes bizerk. It does not help when people let their dogs walk leash free and allow them to go right up to the fence. He is not the only puppy that does it, there is a house up the road with a larger dog and it barks before mine. I am worried about upsetting the neighbours. The most noisiest time of barking is between 530AM to 630AM, we tell him to be quiet and he usually stops barking but will start up again once the next walker comes past. Any suggestions? PS-Letting him sleep inside is not an option.

He has no previous walking experience (ever). He pulls and pulls,I've tried turning around like most books recomend but it doesn't seem to work. He also whynes/cries a lot as he's pulling (as if he's telling me to go faster or something) Its embarising, makes it seem as if im doing something wrong, even though he's the one pulling with all his might. Please help, i want to be able to take my dog for a walk where we can both enjoy it.

I adopted a Jack Russell Terrier from the local shelter about two months ago. He's an adult (approximately 2 yrs.), and a great dog, so loving and smart. He was mostly house-trained by the time we got him. However, he's having this issue with urinating. I take him outside regularly to walk out his energy and go to the bathroom, which he does ALOT, while he's out there. Yet lately he'll be playing around or just walking, and in mid-walk, he'll just drop his hind end and start peeing on the carpet. I of course jump up and scold him for doing it, and take him immediately outside. It's not an everyday occurrence, but can at times be frequent. At first I thought it was because there was snow outside, but once that was gone, it still happened. Could it be a behavioral problem, or could it be something that a vet should look at? It's almost as if he has no control or doesn't realize he is doing it. Thanks.

Where i live is a trashy Neighborhood (we would leave, but we were hear years before them with ACRAGE!) And no one has fences except me! and when ever i walk my dobe, a mean dog will come up to us and my dog tears a chuck out of him and the owners and me get into a fight bc their stupid unrestrained white trash dog comes up to ME (i always win), and tries to attack me.and then my RESTARINED dobe with a choke chian, and LEASH, attacks it to protect me, and the dog gets tore up really bad, but its not like i go around to make my dog attack all these dogs bc im not. And im not going to stop walking my dog bc they cant control their dog, but what i wanted to know what could i do to keep them away from us.
any ideas? becuase he is a sweet dobe, and hes only protecting me.when other nonviolent dogs come up to us like little ones, he plays with them, but since the ones close by 2 me are abused neglected, unsocialized& mean, and my hecan tell when theres danger and he bites on command only.

Unfortunately, my apartment lists the following dogs as "Not Permitted": Pit bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, Akita, Chow, Bull Dog, Bull Terrier, German Shepherd, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, or any combinations... I think having dogs like German Shepherd, Doberman, and Bull Terrier are just silly. If anyone can show me statistics on dog attacks, I would be ecstatic.

So, I want a Bull Terrier. For those who don't know, it's the Spuds MacKenzie (Bud Light) dog from the 80's, or the dog which just won Best In Show at Westminster, Rufus... These were originally bred for fighting (way back), but long since have been bred with English Terriers (now extinct) to make it a great companion dog.

Anyway, I really think this sucks and was wondering if anyone had any ideas to getting this dog in... Otherwise, I'll likely aim to get out of the lease or buy a 200lb Tosa Inu (Japanese fighting dog) out of sheer spite, since it's not on on the "Not Permitted" list...
