My son is 5 and a half and when he was 2 we had a little dog get into our yard and jump all over my son's back (which was bare because he wan't wearing a shirt) and scratch him up. He has been so scared of little dogs or dogs that like to play ever since. I have so many friends that have dogs and it has come to the point where we just won't go there anymore. There has to be something I can do to show him that dogs are awsome pets. Do i get a dog and let them bond or do I just take him to my neighbor's who has a dog every so often and get him used to their dog? I don't know what to do. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

My partner and I lost our home about 3 weeks ago and were very nearly homeless, we had 2 dogs when this happened who ment so much to us! It was not fair to keep our dogs when we were in such a state and so we made the very very hard decision to re-home them both!
We cried alot and it caused alot of heartache but it did mean we got accepted into a new house and we both got full time jobs!
Things are going ok for us now, but we miss our dogs so much!

The other day my partner got a phone call saying our dog had to have a operation which she had and is ok but apparently she is like a different dog now and they have had to separate her from our other dog as they no longer get along! They have asked us if we will take her back.
we would love to but we are both working full time and living in a rented house that has a tiny garden it doesnt even have grass!

She has sepeartion anxiety and so needs ALOT of attention and will bark constantly when were at work!

What do we do?

She has currently been on a presciption dog food from the vet due to some digestive problems, they say she may just have a sensitive stomach- so I want something good actually the best for her, nothing that is bad or too many un nessacary things in it. The vet says she is now ready to slowly ( cause of her stomach) to change back to regular foods-- what is the best or the healthiest out thre? Money is not an issure--only the best for my baby girl!!!

I've tried talking to the owners, but they continue to leave the dog outside 24/7, and it barks the night away.

to eat dry food. He will eat the cat's Ocean Fish Flavor cat food but not any other's I have tried. I end up feeding him table scraps. He sheds like crazy and I'm told it's the cat food. How do I go about figuring out what kind of food to give him? Wet vs dry? How much? When? I feel bad that I do not know this. He is four years old. I want him to live longer. He has little teeth!

Please help me Healp My Baby Hank!

I have a 3 month old elkhound/terrier mix that has been a nightmare with potty training. I have done everything I have heard or read to do. I let him out regularly, I crate him when I am gone, I have pee pads everywhere, I praise & treat him when he is good & I speak mean & crate him when he is bad. He even potties in his bed which most dogs won't do. The vet says he is in perfect health & he eats Iams, so it is not his diet or health. Any advice from someone who has be in this situation would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I tried mallowash and many flea powders and shampoos with little result. Would prefer to use natural rather than insecticidal.

My Shih-Tzu has allergies. He has had shots, pills, creams, dips, sprays, powder shampoos and he still scratchers and in places knaws the blood out. Someone told me to use peroxide. And I don't want to use it if it will burn him. He has sensitive skin any way.

Do you put into practice what you learn on his show? What kind of results did you get? Does the "sht! sht!" claw-hand-move really work for you?

I have an 11 week old shitzu/Papillon mix puppy. I have only had him for 1.5 weeks. I feed him Bil-Jac puppy food.
He usally has normal stool, but once a day he has a runny stool with a little drop of dark blood in it. at first I thought it was the treats I was feeding him, so I stopped giving them, but it hasn't stopped. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow but it is freaking me out. any suggestions on what it might be?

I'm thinking about getting a dog, but I can't always be there to let it out when it needs to go. How does one train a dog to a "pup pad?"

My female black lab mix had a dental cleaning, 4 teeth removed,
and a small cyst removed from her eyelid. She came home and that evening she was panting really hard. She ate and drank the next day and was able to talk her pain medication and antibiotics. The panting has not stopped. The vet gave us additional paid medication, but she is still panting. She hasn't had a bowel movement since being home. What should I do for her?

My pom has these hot spots on his leg that he keeps licking. he has always had one, but he stopped licking, and now he is licking again. but this time on a his right leg that is getting bigger. we are away from him during that day...sort of. i leave at 1 to go to work and the only time he is alone is from 1 - 6 at 6 my boyfriend gets home. we bought another puppy hoping that it would give him something to do during the day when we are not home. but instead of not licking, he made a new spot. I'm concerned and don't know what to do anymore. we tried the bitter apple. we tried the witch hazel...what next?

He is good when it comes to goin the bathroom outside. I take him out before I head to bed, and he waits till I get up. He started crying to get out around 4-5 in the morning and it's like diarhea. But I have no clue what is goin on. I gave him treats that he has never had, but I stopped two days ago. But, the problem is still here. What might this possibly be?
