Dogs dont have the proverbial "Mucous Plug" they will discharge, clear, to slighty brownish/reddish liquids when they are about a few hours away from birth. Greenish to yellowish discharge is a sign of infection or Muconium which is fetal fecal matter in the birth canal. If she is discharging alot then she is hours away. Some dogs will discharge a day before hand but only a little drippy blood tinged watery stuff. Copious amounts of it can mean that she is have troubles with a stuck puppy. I would be prepared to have some puppies in a few hours to a day.

Don't wander too far. The puppies could be popping out right now or she might keep you in suspense for up to 4 hours. Much longer than that and I would give my vet a call to find see if it is ok

It is normal for the ***** to lose a mucus plug some hours before whelping. It can be discoloured but smell fine.

Check the colour of the discharge. Is it smelly? What is the colour? If it is greeny black, or watery, is it watery or mustardy. Call your vet if it is not clear and relatively odourless.

Labour will seriously commence right after your dog empties her bowels prior to delivery. she might vomit. her feces should be normal or perhaps a tad loose.

I am SOOOO jealous of you to watch that miracle of birth. It is an awesome experience.

Take her immediately to the vet for a spay - immediately. you may never attempt to cut up dogs who're tied. you may injure the two, or the two considered one of them. For the record too, seasons in the b itch final for 21 days and you will see bleeding for the 1st week - 10 days and then the release will pass to a diminished straw colour. it fairly isn't the season over - on the choice, with maximum bitches it incredibly is the time they're going to stand for mating. and whilst quickly as mated, the b itch will stay in season for the completed 21+ days. And why substitute into she exterior on her very own while in season in spite of everything? proprietors of finished bitches could account for each minute they're in season - and which means going exterior with them, and having a lead waiting could a stray dogs get in.
