I have a labrador and i love dogs that are full of energy, i really like the look of boxers but i need to find out more about the breed.
Anyone own one and know? or know of any good books or sites to find out more?
Also are they a good dog to have with a lab?

I'm researching the subject - my hunch was that small dogs usually would live inside the house. Wondered if I was mistaken...

My 4 month old dog started acting lethargic 4 days ago, started throwing up, then she started to rejected water and food. I thought she had just eaten something she wasnt supposed to and it would pass then I found out last night when i took her to the vet that she has parvo. I had an option to leave her there for treatment or take her home, i had to take her home along with some shots that they gave her and meds. I couldn't afford the 15 hr minimal recomended stay for about $800. I'm giving her 3ml of pedialight every 20 min. Now she has only thrown up once since i started at midnight 5 hrs ago. I need some tips from anyone who has gone through this because this is a really hard thing to go through right now. Im gonna call into work today to take care of her and dissinfect the whole house.

Hey guys,

Need some suggestions for somehow conveying to my neighbor that her dog is an incessant barker!

Each night the dog barks constantly, you know that bored, rhythmic "I am stuck in a backyard without any attention" kind of bark.

A couple of months back I left her an anonymous note in her mailbox, which she came over to ask me about. I ended up telling her in person that No, I wasn't mad, but YES her dog barks A LOT. She didn't really seem to get it though, just invited me over to meet her kids and her dog, which was nice...

...but it doesn't get me anymore sleep in the mean time.

So, I know this is THE WORST thing I can do, but when it barks I either throw it some dog biscuits (yep, reinforcing the barking! but I get 2 minutes of silence - I am desperate) or I yell SHUT UP!!! out the window (the yelling is supposed to be so the neighbors hear it, I am sure the dog couldn't care less if I yell at it!).

I AM GOING NUTS!

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!
Heidi

I understand that the quality of food affects your dog, but in what ways? I feed my dog Nutrience only available in town which costs over $27 per bag but my mum keeps telling me to feed him a "normal" dog food brand from supermarkets which costs only $10 per bag. She's even told me to give him food from her restaurant, bread and boiled rice. What can I tell her so she's convinced that my puppy does need to be fed good quality brand food and not a random diet.

We played with him when he was a puppy doing it so he thinks he is playing and he is really good with his control (he doesn't hurt). But it can be embarrassing & kids get scared but it so it has to stop as he is a big boy & I don't wont him to one day get to excited and bite to hard. He is never angry, always playful or just saying hello but can be annoying, please someone help.

A number of people in my estate have dogs, myself included and i have never notice a problem with persistant barking from anybodys dog, however someone in the estate seems to be reporting everybodys dog for barking late at night and early in the morning, i have to admit my dog seems to have a barking fit every morning for about 5-10 mins and i can't seem to stop him no matter what i do, but he is fine all day (i have asked my neighbours if any problems when i am not in they say no), and is great in the evening, anyway does anyone know at what point can barking be classed a problem which should be reported, or have we just got a busy body who has nothing better to do living in the estate. thanks is advance.

A dautson lives just down from me. The owner has had complaint after complaint filed against her for abusing her precious dog. All in our apartment complex love the dog but he suffers greatly. The dog warden has came at least six times and the baby is never taken away. He can no longer walk, he is skin and bones, and he cannot control his bowels well. She kicked him to cause the beginning of his problems. He helpers nudge him impatiently to get him to hurry to get his job done. It is now to the point where he has to be taken out on a sled because he can no longer walk. The warden was over again yesterday and did not take the suffering dog away. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Do we not have any way to get the baby help and let him go to dogie heaven because of his suffering and pain?

I can't change his dog food or he gets constipated.. also if he gets to many scraps (which he rarely does anymore). Also he throws up alot... if he drinks to much water he throws up.. sometimes he thows up in the middle of the night when just sleeping soundly (not often), and sometimes when running around. He is throwing up less since he is on the new food and his scraps are cut down, also I don't let him gorge on water when he is thristy... he is a cockapoo... is it just the poodle stomach. He is happy and healthy and his checkups are fine at the vet

My new Beagle pup is great & we're getting on really well with him. However, he seems to make retching sounds every so often, as if something is in his throat. This doesn't seem to faze him at all he just gets on with what he was doing. I've heard that this can often be inherent in Beagles, but would like to hear from other Beagle owners to set my mind at rest.

I was just wondering, if food allergies in a puppy, can cause ear rashes on the inside of a puppy's ear. I have a 4 month old chihuahua, that breaks out in a rash, but one minute it's there and the next it disappears. Has anyone else had this happen with their puppy? I was thinking about switching the puppy's food to Royal Canin Mini Canine Health Nutrition Puppy 33. Is that considered a good, healthy food for puppy's? Does anyone else feed their puppy's this food?

We live in an apartment and I don't want to bother the neighbors but my dog barks at every little noise, and he barks loud. I was wondering if I should put a muzzle on him when he barks (for a little bit to show him it's bad) or when he chews the socks/shoes. I just don't want to emotionally mess him up.
