The very best thing you can do is to ask your veterinarian to recommend a good obedience class, and enroll her right now. Classes aren't just for puppies. I don't know if you've had her since she was a pup or if you've recently adopted/purchased her. In either case, get her involved in classes and start socializing her with other animals and people. Learn how to properly train her from a good obedience instructor, and practice a lot at home. It's very important to train her in a setting where there are other animals rather than just trying to do it at home. This gives her distractions to overcome and listen to you when she needs to. If you have adopted her and have to "undo" someone else's training with or lack of it, it may take a little longer. Be patient. You have all the time in the world to make her a wonderful dog. Be firm but gentle with her. She's still young and will be an awesome dog if you invest the time and energy to train her properly.

Good luck!!

It is never too late to train a dog. You should join an obedience class. Call the vet and ask for trainer referrals. Do a search on the internet, put in dog trainers and your location and you should find something. Also, since you own a pure bred dog there are breed clubs you can join and there are training classes offered for nominal fees. You should stay away from places like petsmart or petco because they are not very good. When looking for a training class you should not pick one at random, plan to visit and sit and watch (without your dog) this way you will know if you like their methods and feel comfortable with the instructors.

Lots of experience with security dogs. They can be trained from puppy stage without difficulty. Also they are easy to handle and are more intelligent. Never use a cane or stick to beat you pet. Of course, you can use a newspaper rolled up but only when necessary and not frequently. You can also be strict by holding the ears and shaking their head slightly to show your disapproval to any bad behaviour. Always give a chewy bone to keep the young active pet engaged. You can also use some of old clothes as a toy if not a frisbee....

Yes. It's possible to train any dog of any age. It's just easier training a puppy at an early age. You have to be consistent. Try it, see how you go. Take it to a dog training school if you're not sure. Actually, a training classes are recommended. but yes, many people train their dog when it's an adult, reasons such as they've just adopted, or they didn't know how important it was when it was still a puppy.

for training a baby dog you have to act as a mother dog first. why not leave dogs to their own world. why keep them in a house for show. keeping a dog as a pet is like putting some in jail with out freedom. think of the animal kingdom keep a man as a pet and an animal asking another animal to suggest means of training the man. let German shepherd go to Germany, please.

It's a shame that training hasn't commenced before now, but you can teach an old dog new tricks! It will take more time and alot of patience, as the dog is used to getting its own way by now, so make sure you keep it up and be consistent!

Enrol her into obedience classes :D

you should have started training her when she was 4-5 months
But yes you can start by talking to her when you take her for walks this will help the communication level between the two of you to increase. And 1 most important thing she needs to know who's the boss, you don't have to hit her all you do is shout at her in a slight higher pitch and don't pamper her soon after you scold her this will help her realise she was wrong

nicely, a 300 and sixty 5 days previous GSD is infrequently an grownup canines. Why do you go away her exterior? that is extraordinarily complicated to teach her to be an interior canines while she is obtainable. there's no longer something incorrect with the canines. you could practice her. you already know that doggies, esp. working canines, have a great number of power? She desires 2 long leash walks in line with day. verify you're feeding her a top high quality canines foodstuff. carry her interior the domicile and crate practice her. Crate her once you could't supervise her. Take her to obedience type and take it heavily. If she is familiar with 'take a seat' and 'down' it incredibly is a competent commence. she would be able to no longer magically practice herself- you could artwork together with her on a daily basis. Spaying her won't calm her down, besides the shown fact that it will make her fit and provide her ability for an prolonged existence.
