Sorry but if the parents weren't registered, there is no way you can get you dog registered. Only the owner of the mother of the puppies can register a litter. If you have something in writing which said that the dog would be KC registered then you can take things further. It's the same as buying anything else - don't believe the word of strangers.

Hi
You should always sign a contract that determines the time papers should arrive. I know that we occasionally get problems with Irish Kennel Club Dog owners, they are so slow to send papers through. It should be no more than 90 days, I would send a solicitors letter demanding the papers within 7 days failure results in summons for financial return,
You should always check breeders out with the kennel club many are now saying the dog lovers registration is the same when in fact its just a load of crap.
We see this all the time with Bichon Frise Breeders in puppy farms, they are a nightmare for both dog and human.

You should have gotten the AKC Registration Application when you picked up the puppy. The breeder registers the litter, NOT individual pups. That is up to the new owner.
Do you have any type of written agreement/contract with this breeder? Do you have anything with the sire and dam's registered names on it?

Yes you can register her with AKC. It would be called an Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP) You have to spay the dog and send in pictures along with an application you can download on akc.org. This is needed to enter performance events.

Hi,
No there is no way of registering a puppy, the breeders of the litter are the only ones that can do this,to be honest at six months she should have had the registration there went you went to view.
This is why it is important to see all relavant documents, before you buy, they should then be handed over on the sale of the pup.

Have you contacted her again to ask about the papers? Sometimes things do get lost in the mail. If this is the case, she can issue you a new one.
