Okay, my bf has a probably an almost 3 yr old black lab. This dog has given me nothing but problems since we moved in together. He is very well trained for him, such as sit and stuff. however, when i tell him to do somethin, he does it until someone coems over. if my dad comes to visit, or my friends, he follows them and ignores my commands like they will save him. biggest problem is... he stared getting tempermental to both of us. for instance, i caught him today chewing on a stuffed animal he knows not to, i told him back and called him over to it, he growled at me. so i lightly smaked him in his nose. he snapped at me. i grabbed his nose and told him bad, and he went crazy. i had to put him outside bc he is pretty big, and im afraid he could hurt me. we recently got a kitten to and some days he loves her licking her and layin with her, others he growls at her when she is playing. i dont know why. he has grown up around dogs. he came from a house with 6 other dogs. help

she is a large dog and jumps up when i go outside, she almost knocks me over when she jumps up. She only jumps up on me! I have scratches from her when she jumps up. but the more i yell the more she she thinks it's a game! My husband just says sit and she does. But when he's not home she doesn't listen to me, she has even nipped me once. So I don't go outside when he's not home. I would love to hear a solution because I feel really bad that my husband is hanging out all the washing!

I know this sounds like a silly question, so I will explain. I have a 10 wk old boxer, i have had him for a week. He is in a crate when i am not home and does not go in his crate. When we are home, we are really on top of him, and he has only had one accident. How will i know when he is actually trained, and that its not just me being extra good about taking him out frequently?

I often see women with very small dogs which they carry around in bags which resemble purses or tote bags. What are the breeds of dogs which are small enough to do this with? If someone could provide a list of a few, it would be appreciated.

Does that mean that pitbull owner have to get rid of there dog? That's sad to me because people can really get attached to their pets.

she swallows pushing her tongue forward lightly against her teeth, drinks water like once a day, she's been checked for about two years already , all she's had removed was one of her tonsils. I keep her hydrated with canned food with a little warm broth or water in it. Can it be something serious? thanks in advance

the nuisence noisy pill head neightbour in out block of flats did a runner on sunday after moving all the stuff out of her flat.

thing is she left her dog and 3 of its 10 week old puppies (the ones she couldnt sell) shut in the kitchen with no food or water. but she left the windows wide open.

on monday i rang the council and the rspca as that kitchen is above mine and i could hear the dog barking and scratching and the puppies wimpering.

my friend had heard them when she was walking her dog and she rang both the council and the rspca on tuesday.

other neighbours in the block had also complained.

the council came out 2day but wouldnt break into the flat untill we said we were going to ring up the local papers.

then an hour later rspca came out and broke into the flat and took the staving dog and pups away. one of the puppies was nearly dead and they were all covered in poop.

how many complaints do they need from people before its serious?

Can dogs recognize and enjoy music?

2007-01-12 08:51:41 · 18 answers · asked by Anonymous

My dog was almost a year old when we got him and he previously lived on a farm. The owner was a one time only breeder who just let the puppies run around the barn and do whatever they wanted. He can go to the bathroom outside when he wants to but he gets mad when I have to go to work. He will go inside even after he has just been outside for a while. I will greatly appreciate any suggestions. I have already tried things that others have told me to do, but none of the have worked.
p.s. The dog is a German Shepherd. Thank you

The Benton brothers were taken to court because they allowed their dog to get to over 11 stone. They feel the RSPCA were wrong to take action. I think the RSPCA were very right to take action. The court gave them a discharge. Why should we allow people to be cruel to animals and get away with it. 11 stone+ for a lab is an outrages size. The heart and all its joints will suffer. It cant go any place it can hardly move. £5000 fine and a 10 year ban would have been better.
