Molt ~ to shed hair, feathers, shell, horns, or an outer layer periodically...
Yes, beagles shed quite a bit. People with allergies often react to the dander and fur from beagles, though with weekly grooming and proper bathing, many allergy suffers do quite well with a beagle in the home. But if you or a family member suffer from allergies, it is worth looking into other Dog Breeds Commonly Recommended for Allergy Sufferers.

beagles shed yes, the term molt is usually refering to the feathered animals, it may also refer to the sheading of skin that reptiles do, it can also refer to the process that insects do as they grow, and refers to a totla change of the outer coverings of an animal, no dog breed could ever be considered molting, though they all shed, loose hair to some extent during the life of the animal, some breeds loose less hair than others, the beagle because of the short coat may not be as noticable as a longer coated breed, if you clean daily. if you are concerned with the sheding of hair due to alergies then try a Bechon Frise, or a poodle mix as the ype of hair these breeds have reduces the free flying of hair around the home enviroment. short haired breeds are the next best choices, and finnally the hairless breeds.

Yes, they do shed. Molting refers to "shedding periodically part or all of a coat or an outer covering, such as feathers, cuticle, or skin, which is then replaced by a new growth." In the grooming world we do use the word molting, but usually with double coated dogs, such as Huskies and Malamutes.
