my dog wa really unwell during her season, its good to know that other ppl pick up on theyre dogs feelings, i was laughed at cos i said my dog was unwell during this period, i ended up taking her to the vet, i was right to do so, as he discovered she has a hormone imbalance, she needs to get dressed, or she'll be feeling really unwell everytime she has her break. just keep an eye on her and i hope she feels better soon x

Some do; but watch out for pyometra. Its a lethal illness, it comes on very fast. Symptoms include lethergy, high temp, vomiting and thirst.
If in doubt get your dog to the vets for a check up; pyometra can kill within 48 hours but is treatable if caught early.
If your females behaviour is unusual for her then keep an eye on her.

My friends Whippet vomits when she first comes in to season and she is a bit mopey and clingy, but it all depends on the dog, some sail through each time without problems.

Sometimes, it just depends on the dog. My female gets really lazy and mopey when she first comes into heat. But, if it continues even after she comes out of heat I would call the vet.

my dog was given the "op" after her second season, as she was "as rough as a dog" !!! 2 days after her op my dad had to phisically lift her out of her bed so she could go for a poo and when she did go we all stood at the window watching her and as she squatted she fell over, imagine dog in sqat possition then falling over, we did fall about laughing!!, she was ok but it got her steady on her feet again!!! so yes they do tend to feel it too-bless em!!!!

I don't know that they necessariyl don't feel well, they just feel different. My dog would be a little more tired than normal, and i could tell her behavior was different, which was most likely hormonal.
