Yes, this is normal he/she has thick winter now. During the summer when I brush my Jack Russell if done daily no problem,
however during the winter he & she shed lots. I have this bottle of spray (I suirt on my hands if they don't like the spray) apply and give them a good brushing. It is called Shed X or Shed Stopper you can get from Pet Smart or most Pet Stores, it helps alot with less vacuming, wear a smock while brushing, helps
Best of Luck my friend,

I have a short coat Jack Russell and he sheds so much, especially in the summer when his coat doesn't need to be as thick. There was a special brush that we bought for him that got deeper into his fur and it was rubbery so he loved it. It loosened up the fur. We tried to brush him in the morning and at night but he is just one furry/ shedding dog!

Yes, J.R.'s shed alot all the time. Use a shedding tool on him, it will remove alot more hair than a brush. Most pet shops carry them.

The best thing to do is to brush them weekly. I have a long hair Golden retreiver and that works good!

it is a good idea to buy a brush for his coat length and brush him daily. my beagle used to shed a lot until i started brushing her every day. this helped a ton
