My dog a spaded female grew up with an old tomcat named Moustache. Last week i found Moustache dead since then my dog has been acting strange. I also had a younger tom cat but 2 days ago he has been missing. I think my dog is going through a depression as not acting herself. I let her run during the day but put her up at night. I noticed she always looks back looking for her buddy Old Moustache and i tell her he's gone .. Breaks my heart.THey would sleep together in her Dog house and eat together. Hubby and I buried Moustache in the back of the yard. and i cried.

...then WHY do you ask the question here?

I realize that some folks are ABSMALLY ignorant of of the BASIC responsibilities of dog care but how can you possibly be so arrogant (& SILLY) as to "second guess" your VET'S advice or demand a "pat-on-back" for making more MUTT/MONGRELS or REFUSE to accept the FACTS in answers to ridiculous questions?

Like.....there's NO SUCH THING as "teacup" ANYTHING!!
&...if it's a MUTT/MONGREL,it's NOT *ANY* breed & it's impossible to predict ANYTHING about it.
&....only CROOKS peddle MUTTS-on-PURPOSE.
&....Dogs do NOT have "periods"! ESTRUS is the OPPOSITE of human menstruation.
&....docking & cropping is NOT "cruel" or "mean" or any other humaniac's LYING "buzz-word".

&...list goes on & on & on & on.

I mean FACTS,not some equally ignorant "opinion".
If you need a "cootchie-coo"....go ask yo mama,OK?
Somebody telling the TRUTH is ***NOT*** "insulting" you!

Im sorry if that was confusing. This is my problem. My parents have to take my dog off the property in order to renew their homeowners insurance. They have two choices put the dog to sleep, or give him to someone that wants him. I want the dog, but my mom had been told that if he bites again, as me being his owner, they can sue me and the previous owners. Is that true? And who can i call to talk about? Humane Society??

My fiance and I got 2 new puppies 2 days ago, we want to train them (potty train) them right from the beginning. Does anyone know what would be the best way to do that? And how? What sort of chemicals can be used on puppies for fleas also? And then, my Yorkshire Terrier has been drooling since he met the 2 new babies, they are females, does this have anything to do with it? He's been foaming @ the mouth a couple of times as well, like vomiting foam, what does this mean? Could he be allergic to milk, 'cause I think he could've had some of the puppies' milk...

First of all thanks for your input. I have been to the veterinarian at least 20 times and I'm sure it's really been a lot more than that to clear this up. I have tried useing baby wipes to clean her down. She does have a sunken vulva that will be fixed after she's a year old. My veterinarian has tried to do culturing to the discharge many times to see what kind of bacteria is involved and Simplief should work. The veterinarian has done X-Rays and many Ultrasounds on her and will be doing a examination using a vaginoscope or endoscope on the Jan. 17th. If it is puppy vaginitis, can I just leave it till she is a year old?

She is not in heat. She already was a couple months ago. Also, the blood does not look fresh. It is brownish and kinda thick. At first it was literally dripping out of her, right now she's just spotting. What could it be????? (I do not know if she was ever bred, she wandered on to our doorstep 4 years ago and we just took her in.)

ive had my dog at the vet,her break lasted way over 2 months, she bled constantly through out, now the vet has told us there isnt anything wrong with her that he can find, but has then went onto tell us that we will have to get her dressed if we dont she can end up with breast cancer or cyst in the womb later in life. my problem is should i have her dressed, shes a japanese akita, and she'll be 2 in feb, and we were hoping for atleast one litter from her, or should we go on ahead and have this op done, im stuck here, dont want to get it done if breast canceris not thatcommon or cysts x please help, i want my dog for another 10 plus years atleast, and if the op helps with that then the op she will have x

Black Lab 8 months old. She was spaded in 08/2006 Never have gotten a good sample of discharge until the vet opened her up. I only notice the discharge after I return home from work and let her outside. The dog is in no pain, and has no other problem other than discharge. First vet that spaded her said it was Puppy Vaginitis and gave her Ciprofloxacin for two weeks. Seemed to get better, then re-appeared a week later. Second vet said it was Puppy Vaginitis and gave her Simplicef for two weeks. Seem to clear up, then re-appeared a week later. Second vet did a bunch of tests and said the stump that the first vet had left after having her spaded was too large and it was giving the bacteria a place to grow. Second vet Surgical removed the infected stump and put her back on Simplicef for two weeks. You guess it, one week later the discharge is back. The vet were at is suppose to be one of the best in area and it seems she is running out of ideas. Thanks for taking the time in reading this.

Cesar Millan is brilliant, what he does with those dogs on his show is just amazing especially the aggresive ones. However, how do you think he would deal with a pack of hungry wolves, or hyena, do you think he could get control or he would be eaten alive like a day old wildebeast.

I have a six month old puppy that absolutely loves going to the dog park. We go every morning. My question is "How do you handle the owner that either doesn't watch their dog at play or pick up after them when they go potty?" Some dogs are very aggressive and I don't feel it is safe for me to pull them off of my dog. I also don't like picking up after all the other dogs. I ALWAYS pick up after mine.
