No offense but, she's a baby. You can't expect her to be potty trained by 11 weeks old. She can't even hold it at all. She probably doesn't even know when she has to go. I would suggest you buy a puppy crate and start crate training her. Lots of good resources out there, just google crate training.

Some dogs are just more difficult to housetrain than others, but at 11 weeks, most dogs would still not be housebroken. In other words, she's normal.

Take her out in the yard and watch over her until she goes. Be patient - she WILL go. When she goes outside, offer her praise for doing it correctly.

In the past, I have also found it helpful to use the command 'go potty' or something similar while she is going. She will soon learn to associate the command with the act. As with all puppies, it's important to take her outside every 2 hours or so, and after she eats. Waiting until she goes inside is just setting her up for failure.

If she goes in the house and you don't catch her in the act, just clean it up and move on. You cannot punish a dog for something that happened a minute ago. They'll never put it all together. If you do catch her in the act, pin her to the floor GENTLY by her scruff and let her know that this is unacceptable behavior. No need for hitting and yelling.

Also, to establish a line of communication between the two of you, buy some little bells and hang them over your door knob on a string that she can reach. Every time you take her outside, ring the bells with her little paw. Within a week or so she will learn that ringing the bells means that you will let her out to potty.

As with most dog behaviors, the key is to praise her for doing it correctly as opposed to punishing her for doing it wrong.

Hope this helps, and remember - PATIENCE.

Put newspaper all over your carpet. Then when she has an accident, it will be easier to clean. If you want to start training her already, make sure that everytime she has an accident on the newspaper, you "punish" her in some sort of way. Don't be too harsh though, because she is a puppy. Just tell her (firmly, but not yelling/loud... you don't want to scare her.)"No! It's not good!" or something like that. Don't EVER hit her... that is NOT the proper way to say no to a dog. If she holds it and goes outside, give her a treat, and she will understand right from wrong.

Make a huge deal when she goes potty out side. Teach her go potty or some other phrase and when she goes praise the heck out her. If she is not moving from the stairs, pick her up and put her in the middle of the yard. Tell her go potty and wait until she does. You also might not be giving her enough time out side to go.
You migh want to look into obedience training. See if you can find a puppy class they can really help with the little problems puppies and humans have!

When you take her out, put her on a leash and do not come back in until she goes. Do not pet her, do not play with her. Let her learn that when it's time to "go potty", that is the only activity to take place. I recommend that if you're going to use that method of training that she be taken out every 2 hours. As soon as she's done her "business", praise her with the enthusiasm that you would use if you'd just won the lottery. She needs to know that what she's done has pleased you immensly. (Dogs love to please!) Bring her back in and praise her again and offer her a little treat. This has worked for every dog I own.

Also, be patient with her. She's adapting to new surroundings, new people, and is after all, just a baby.

Stay out with her longer. Praise her when she does go. If you think she will go as soon as you bring her in the house, wait and watch her. Try to keep her in a room that is easiest to clean - such as on tile or linoleum. When you see her going, yell out - no or "ah, ah" and quickly grab her and put her outside. But do be patient with her and give her a lot of time outside to go. And still expect mistakes! But giver her lots of praise and even treats (pieces of her own dog food) if you believe her to be food motivated. Most of all - timing is your friend. Take her out every hour when you can. And whenever you can, spend a ful 5 minutes or so walking or running around with her. Not only may it stimulate her bladder, it will help you bond.

You're right NOT to hit the pup. It would only make her fearful. NOT teach her anything positive such as where you want her to relieve herself.

Oh - if you get extremely frustrated you can by a pheremone stake to put in the ground to try to encourage your pup to urinate near it everytime you take her out.

Best of luck

Find a box that the puppy can lay down in but is not much bigger. As the puppy grows then increase the size of the box. The reason to keep the box small is that they do not like to lay in their own mess. You will have him trained in no time. Good luck.

she is a small puppy. She's not housebroken don't sweat! Show her that it's not a proper place to pee(the house) soon she'll whine.

"Hi my name is Linda I am my owner's puppy. I peed in the house too alot but my owner never yelled at me Thank YOU! Well any way i got out of the habit because my owner showed me right away my little mess and told me to not to do it again. Now i get up myself scratch and wine to my owner and talk a long walk. (here's a hint when my sister pees in the house she'll probably want to do more so take her for a long walk and show her to pee in the bushes) BARK BARK

Try this it may seem harsh but it will work. Dedicate a week to this. Take her out and walk her around. When she does something praise and give her a treat. If nothing then put her in her crate. Do this and she will get it.
