It could very well be pyrometra, which is very deadly. Please get her to the vet as soon as you can..
http://www.thepetcenter.com/sur/pyo.html<< Pyometra in the dog is a very serious condition!
From Dr. Mike, DVM>>
Any time there is a discharge from the vulva of an intact (unspayed) female dog outside of the normal discharges seen in the estrus (heat) period, pyometra is possible. Since pyometra (uterine infection) can be life threatening in dogs it is always a good idea to check on this with your vet. I have seen open pyometras (a uterine infection in which drainage occurs) which have gone on for several weeks before the infection became serious enough to cause other visible signs so I don't think that this is a particularly unusual situation when the cervix is open and the pus can drain from the uterus. Eventually these usually cause significant problems, just like the closed pyometras in which the pus can't escape, though.<

You need to get her to the vet, old blood is never good it means that it has been in her for some time and that mean poss. infection. Check her temp. if you can stand to or feel her ears to see if they feel hot. If by chance she is pregnant this would be an emergency situation because she can become toxic if the pups have died. If it is an infected uterus its usually pus that comes out not blood. If she was in heat 2 months ago then she could be pregnant because gestation is around 63 days. Get her to the vet ASAP!

If she was in heat a couple of months ago, she could be giving birth. Take her to the vet, they can tell you if it is serious. I would not want to deal with this at home. Make sure to at least call the vet and get their opinion.

There is some very serious potential for a neurological problem or Gastro Intestinal problems.
You need to take your dog to the Veterinary Doctor as soon as possible. Dogs (and cats) are "only" capable of loosing a certain percent of blood. If they loose too much they could become anemic or worse.
Being that your dog is a small breed, she doesn't have a lot of blood to lose before she could be dramatically affected.
take your dog to the vet as soon as possible.
best of luck to you.

Is there any chance she is pregnant? If so she is trying to give birth. Does she have swollen teats. Is her stomach bigger than normal? If so she is pregnant. Take her to the vet either way. There may be something more wrong with her like a ptometrs, a uterine infection which is quite dangerous and needs immediate medical attention.

Are you sure that she isn't pregnant? This could be a sign.
Has she been in a fight or hit by a car?
If the answer is no to all of the above questions I would watch her over the weekend and see if she is different in her behavior that might suggest that she is not well.
It would really be better to have her checked out.

I was tempted to make all the silly jokes, however, I do not want to treat your question that way.
It sounds like a trip to the vet is in order. It might be serious.

Take her to the VET NOW!!!! It also depends is this from her anus or from her vagina? If it is from her anus she may have got into some rat poison or have eaten something. Otherwise could be a clot or abscess. Though it could be nothing serious.
