Cesar Millan vs. a wild wolf pack......hmmmm
I think that due to the fact that most wolves are very different than domestic dog in the enviroment they grow up in. I think that the pack of hungry wolves would have Cesar as a meal. though dogs are very simular to wolves, wolves are not dogs. dogs will take leadership from man but wolves especially a wild pack will make an easy meal out of a lone man, no matter how knowlegeable the man is of dog behavior/dominance theory. the conflict would be a betting match though if Cesar was prepared to confront the leader with out the packs support. once this is done he could in theory control the pack.

Good question, but it is a hard one to answer. I think Cesar is amazing and brilliant but I think when it comes to wild animals it would depend on alot of things. If the pack was hungry do to a lack of food, how much contact they have had with humans prior, and how many there were. Hyenas I think he would be SOL and the wolves may give him a better shot,

Cesar Milan's principles are based on dog issues that have developed BECAUSE they live with humans and have become unbalanced.
In natural wolf packs, the issues he deals with simply wouldn't exsist. Part of Cesar's treatment is to bring the dogs to his psychology center and reintroduce them to the ways of the pack, helping them get in touch with their instinctual behaviour.
With a wild wolf pack, in order to take control - Cesar would have to take on the Alpha wolf. And unlike the domestic breeds he deals with, the Alpha wolf would not likely respond to his techniques the same as a domestic dog. While they are the same in many ways, in many others they are different.
To the poster who commented about Cesar being abusive, you have clearly not watched his show. While he is firm, he never abuses the animals in any way.

I think that while he would be able to maintain his cool, i'm not sure what you would expect he could do?
could he get out alive? Certainly, he has a keen understanding of what limits and boundaries are.
is he going to domesticate them and make them pets? no.
He understands better than anyone what wild/ferrell dogs are about.
Cesar understands hierarchy and pack mentality.
Don't worry, you won't see him on the news anytime soon from putting himself in any dangerous positions, because he respects the canine family and understands that in the wild, he's not supposed to be "the pack leader". Which is what will keep him alive.

Dogs however untrained or aggressive are still domesticated,Wolves or Hyaenas are wild animals and therefore different creatures to deal with, wolves especially have a very strict pack order and would be unlikely to submit to a human being, although they might not attack him.

He knows enough that he could probably scare them off and walk away. He somehow manages not to get bit by aggressive dogs that are not scared of people. Wild dogs don't like to be around people, they would scare easily.

He is wonderful! However, you're asking about someone who understands a domesticated animals. Yes the act in pack, but they are still domesticated.
Taming a wild animal is different from leading an already tame one.
Hard to say.
To the person who says he abuses animals, you might want to check your sources.

Wolves are so close to dogs that he could train them! He is a dog genius for sure!
Hyenas though... you have to consider that they are quite a bit more fierce than dogs are.... so that one I would give him a 50/50 on !
