For the reputable breeders here, who actually spend the time and money on testing your dogs... I've been researching this and I am curious to your choices and opinions on this...

Which test do you use and why do you use it?

Do you feel that each one offers slightly different information and so do you do both?

What are the pros and cons of each?

I have had him 3 days now, he suddenly stopped eating his dry food maybe at 9 last night, and hasnt touched it yet today.

He threw up about 2 hours ago a few times at different times. He hasnt ate anything we have seen, and he has been around us the whole time he's out of his crate.
He's been warmed up to us since yesterday, and isnt nervous about his new home any that I can tell.

Any idea's? And I am going to call the vet if he doesnt eat after his nap...just thought someone may have some opinions:)

My son found a stray dog about six months ago. I think it was only maybe a month or two old at the time. Is it ok to get her fixed now so she can't have puppies or should I wait until maybe in the spring??

Sunday my dog seemed achy and uncomfortable - she was having trouble doing stairs etc. I gave her one advil thinking that would help. Yesterday I came home to a small amount of vomit, then at 6pm after taking a drink she vomited again. Now she is lethargic, vomitting every 4-6 hours (just bile) and has not had a drink or eaten since 6pm last night (now noon),. She weighs 75 lbs and I gave her one pill. Have I poisned her? My vet says it could be a bug and to give it 24-36 hours to pass. My fiance says one pill in her lifetime would not do this. I've read that advil will irritate her stomach - is that all I have done? Please let me know if you have gone through anything similar.

My 13 week old Boxer cross has a good temperment, is non-aggressive with us and most other dogs. He has been well socialized with other dogs since we got him (puppy day care, trips to Pet Smart, dogs we meet on walks etc) However, in puppy school he was very jazzed to play at the end of the class and it seemed none of the other dogs were too keen to rough-house with him. So he decided to pick on a small Spaniel and play rather roughly with it, even when the Spaniel submitted he kept him pinned and had a good time keeping him there. Is he showing dominant traits or just looking for a buddy to roughhouse with? Also, the puppy day care people say he plays very well and is welcome back any time. Am I Over-reacting? I think maybe the other pups in class haven't been socialized yet and are a bit shy, as our pup is very outgoing.

HELP!!! I have a six month old Weimaraner who is jumping over our fence. We only have a 4 ft. chain linked fence and we split the backyard so that he could have the whole back area... he has learned how to jump out of both areas so right now we are keeping him in the house until we can find an alternate solution. We do not want to go with shock collar if possible... does anyone have any solutions that would help???

different vets. First, it was seasonal allergies, then to a cleaner (candles, incense, laundry soap and everything else under the sun), then an allergy to his food and after cutting all of these things out of his environment, he is still sick. I've switched his food four times in 2 1/2 years, the most recent being by Holistics, made of salmon and anchovies, because my vet was suspicious of an allergy to chicken. It didn't help. He has an underactive thyroid, which is being corrected with medication. He is also being given ketokonisol and prednisone on an regular basis for rashes, yeast infections and inflammation of the skin. I was also told to give him three benedryl twice a day for his itching. He is very lathargic and he scratches and bites to the point of bleeding and also has a bad case of gas most of the time, which is really unpleasant for the both of us. I need help detoxing him, what's best for kidney and liver function and what type of food would you suggest?

If so, did it help? I'm thinking of using one to help with my dog's hip dysplasia pain. Before I do, I'd like to get some feedback from dog owners that have used one.

Every time he walks out of the living room she barks and growls at him as if to say go away, I feel as if there is something about him she does not like. Does any one know why she may act this way?

I have a mongrel who barks at everything, the neighbours moving next door, shadows, our other dog. I'm nearly at the end of my tether as I just don't know what to do. I have tried special collars, a machine that gives a high pitched beep but nothing seems to work. I'm beginning to think he may have a doggy form of tourettes. Any suggestions?

I can't keep my two chihchua dogs in my apartment because my cats don't get along with them so I let them stay in our back patio. But keeping them warm is my concern so what is the best way I can use or buy for them to keep them warm when they go to sleep or rest. Right now outside tempertaure can be from somewhat 27 to 50 degree but tempertaure can jump from day to day so that why I asked you that question. Please don't say that I must keep them in the house because I have tried kept them in the house in separate room away from cats, it don't work because I tried to house train them for 9 months and they are sooooo hyper and won't listen to me at all about house training but they will listen if i call them but ignore us if we try to train them so i have tried to put newspaper on floor with tape because they keep mess up the newspaper and chew it up so they ended up pee and poop on floor or carpet. IT stink really bad and they poop like 5 to 6 times a day. I need to keep them outside.

I really love dogs a lot and have wanted one for a long time now. I have been researching toy breeds for quite some time now and I can't determine which would be best for me. I have almost come to the conclusion that maybe I should get a kitten. That away it is already potty trained, will not disturb the neighbors and is clean. Although this seems like the easy pet solution, I wouldn't get to take it places with me as easily as a dog (to the park, riding in the car, etc). I have researched all the breeds, but I seem to find faults in all of them. I know there is no perfect breed, but for someone who works 4-noon five days a week, lives in an apartment, what would be the best breed between a chihauha, papillon, yorkie, pomeranian, **** tzu, maltese? If any other breeds are better, write those down for me. I'm looking for a relatively quiet, laid back dog that will be a great companion. Thanks!
