That is FINE. In fact...good for you for trying to keep your Poodles coat in good shape (you are combing her out regularly right?...dont let her get matted!!)

I have a white Standard Poodle and he gets bathed every 1-2 weeks. Usually every week since he likes to play in the mud and gets filthy. Been doing this for 3 yrs now and his skin and coat are great. That thing about bathing too often will strip oils, ruin the skin and coat, etc etc.. is out dated info. Shampoos years ago were more detergent based and very harsh.

Just be sure that you use a good quality mild shampoo followed by conditioner and rinse rinse rinse.

No need to have your dog clipped short if you are willing to take the time and effort to keep her combed out thorougly between groomings. Just be sure that the dog is totally free of matts before bathing. If she has matts, when the hair dries, they will get tighter.

BTW...winter bathing and grooming is just as, if not more important than any other time of the year. During the winter, it is important to use a remoizturizer/conditioner. Having the heat turned on in the house will dry the skin out...just like it dries humans skin out.

If the coat is dirty and in need of a bath yes it's okay. Just be sure to use the proper dog shampoo/condtioner for your dog. Try using oatmeal based/aloe based shampoos to help your dog's natural skin oils.

In fact, frequent baths can dry the natural oils in canine skin and lead to constant scratching, which in turn can lead to bacterial infections and oozing hot spots. For dogs that get bathed more than once a month, aloe-based shampoos and coat conditioners and foods and supplements with Omega fatty acids help maintain coat oils and skin health

You also might want to look into taking your dog to the groomer so that your dog can have his hair cut off a little. Good Luck.

It's ok to bathe every two weeks but you should use a good shampoo and don't forget a good conditioner. You could also have your dog cut down some so he won't have so much hair.

Yes you can bathe your dog as many times as you want but make sure not to use a shampoo that dries their skin. Ask your vet for a gentle shampoo....I shampoo my two chihuahuas each week and their baby once every two weeks and they are beautiful...

NO it's not ok!!! You're drying out your dog's skin and coat terribly. Quit the bathing, especially in the winter. In the meantime, to fix the damage you've caused, give your dog about 1 tsp. of veg. oil in her food daily, or a salmon oil capsule. If she has too much hair, she needs to be groomed regularly, not bathed - brushing and clipping!

Sure is as long as you use a proper shampoo made for canines. Don't use any ppl shampoo but most rinses or conditioners made for ppl are OK. Poodles rule!!!!!

growing up, my family had a standard poodle and we were advised to bathe her once a month (prior owner was bathing her every other week). too much bathing and shampooing can irritate their skin. i would recommend brushing her (you can sprinkle her with baby powder and then brush) to keep her well groomed between baths. but, i'd say check with your vet for your best answer...

also, they may sell delicate shampoo...

You should never bath any animal that much, it dries the skin out, every 2 months is fine. Brushing your dog every day is what you should be doing

No that is not good.

You will dry the dogs skin out.\

When you got the Poddle you knew what you would be up against. Its time to get the clippers out and give that Poodle a Marine Basic Training Hair Cut...Military style so that when he is wet, he looks likes a hairless Rat!

Then buy him a Poodle Sweater at Dogs R US to keep him warm.

Its OK as long as you don't get water anywhere near her face or ears. She could get a nasty ear infection that will cost money to buy the meds from the vet. Just make sure you use Doggy Shampoo and if you want to wipe down her face, use a damp washcloth. =]
