My Border Collie is very healthy and has maintained a good diet. He sometimes gets in small fights with my other dog. Whenever this happens there is a very strong odor of fish and both dogs begin licking the carpet for minutes on end. This also happens if my dog is suprised or scared and he begins to bark. I know he's fine but i'm just curious on what is causing this odor and discharge.

He's around 6-7 years old and a mutt. In the last two days he's refused to drink from his bowl, and won't even go near it. It hasn't been moved or changed, other than being refilled. He won't drink from any other bowls, but he will drink from my hand, so it's not the water.

I'm at a loss - help!

My boyfriend and I took our dog to our families' Christmas gatherings on Sunday and Monday. We were gone from home (but with our dog) from Sunday afternoon to Monday night. The dog knows both of our families extremely well and he stayed right by our side the entire time, but we went to three different houses, and I'd imagine it could cause some stress. He didn't really eat Sunday night or Monday morning, but he ate when we got home, and his appetite continues to be normal. Last night, he went diarrhea in one of the houses (he's NEVER had an accident in any house) and he's continued on with it till now. He's still eating and drinking plenty of water though and he's not dehydrated.

Could this have been brought on by the stress of the weekend?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Do they shed or bark a lot? Do they require a lot of grooming and exercise?

I need to know anyone who will have a decent litter of Bichon Frise' purbreds. I would be thrilled if it went as low as $600 to $700
dollars.

We want to get a dog for our son, and he wants one too. He doesn't want a huge dog that will chase him like crazy. I am really confused on what would be the best type to get for a family, for my son to have a play mate. We have a decent sized backyard and will probably keep the dog inside.

We have a Boxer, he's very large (80+ Lbs) he'll be 2 yrs in the spring, so he's still considered a puppy. He's exteremly gentle and my daughter loves him to death (even rides him like a pony). Today, while I was at work & my hubby was making lunch he heard her scream. The dog had nipped her on her face (hard enough to slightly pierce the skin). She says she didn't do anything to cause his aggression - but she has been known to lie so that she doesn't get in trouble. The dog was immediately punished and spent the rest of the day in his cage.

Now I'm wondering if: #1 - I should find him a new home. #2 - Have him put down or #3 - Leave it as is but if it EVER happends again...he's gone.

We love him dearly - but not at the expence of our child's safety. For the time being - she will not ever be left alone with him.

I'll be contacting my Vet tomorow, but for right now - what's your oppinion???

Thanks

You guys notice how there are certain people who show up and all of a sudden EVERYONE gets a thumbs down? (There's a new one in town recently.)

Regardless if they're giving good, bad or indifferent advice. It doesn't matter if someone is just sharing their own experience either.

You know.....it's wonderful to be knowledgeable and to share that with others, but giving everyone else a thumbs down only makes you look arrogant.

(Not talking about Tyke, I'm used to that one LOL)

And it doesn't bother me, really. So no lectures about not letting it get to me or that if I don't like it I should leave. I was just wondering i anyone else noticed the trend?

Go ahead...gimme your thumbs down! I want it!

Is there a breed for a miniature boxer dog?

2006-12-26 10:00:33 · 14 answers · asked by Anonymous

The cat was just standing near the sofa and apparently the dog just snapped and tore the cat apart. The dog broke the cats neck & spine, ripped out an eye and cause internal bleeding. We had to put the cat down as there was nothing we could do to save it. This dog has been loved and treated as family all it's life. What happened? My initial reaction is to put the dog down as we have 3 small children. I need help to understand this. Thank you. I am not sure what kind of dog she is - possibly part pitbull.

We got him years ago from a rescue. He's a full blooded daschund, and was only neutered when he went to the rescue. So, I'm wondering if they did it right, since it appears that our new 9 month old daschund is pregnant!

My mom has a small little white dog. I don't know what breed it is, but she is approximately a foot in height. She seems to be fully grown. My mom says that people have told her to feed the dog once a day, and my dad says that she should feed her until she is no longer hungry. Which of these is correct? Please help me to resolve this because this is a constant argument in thier home.

My puppy seems to pass gas all of the time. She is 11 weeks old and I delivered her because her mom is my dog. She is a chihuahua and has had her parvo and booster shots so far and will be getting her next shots in about one more week.
Is it a bad sign is she is always farting?
