i saw my dog eating grapefruits.he got parvo a couple days later.what is in the grapefruit that made him sick?

parvo is a virus transmitted from one dog to the other. It is a deadly virus and fatal if not treated.....................
Nothing the dog or puppy eats will cause the virus..............
UNLESS.......... It has eated another infected dogs feces, if this is the case it will come down with the virus within 4-7 days later as that is the incubation period for parvo...................Vaccinations are the only way to protect the pup or dog from the fatal virus, BUT GRAPEFRUIT IS NOT the reason the dog was infected.......

Parvo is not airborn as so many people believe......... It is in the ground............... birds can spread the virus by eatinf infected feces and then dropping their droppings wherever, your car can spread the virus just by running over a pile of infected feces IT IS NOT airborn...................
Even if your pup comes through this, the puppy is still contagious for 30 days after. (the feces)
You also need to clorox bleach everything and everyplace the pup has been, parvo can live in the ground for up to one year.
Clorox is the most effective killer for the virus. You can dilute it with water so it is not as strong, it can also be sprayed on your yard, but it can and will kill the grass, but grass can be replaced..

Ih he got Parvo 2 days after eating ANYTHING, it didn't
have anything to do with what he ate.
Parvo Incubates for at least 7 days, so he was already sick
when he ate the Grapefruit. Parvo is a VIRUS.....easily
controlled by vaccine. YOU made him sick by not vaccinating
him on time, not the Grapefruit.

Eating Grapefruit or any other food isn't responsible for your puppy getting parvo. Parvo is a virus that is spread from dog to dog. It can be prevented if parvo vacciantion is given BEFORE exposure to the virus.

Your dog got parvo from being exposed to another dog that had it or was carrying it.

He didn't get it from the grapefruit. He could have gotten it

If he came in contact with another dog
If he even came in contact with somewhere another dog with parvo was...out for walks?
If you pet a dog while you were out and he had parvo, you could have transmitted it to you dog.
If anyone came into your home and pet or played with your dog who'd been in contact with another dog with parvo...

Parvo is an epidemic right now. My vet told me not to take my puppy anywhere outside of home until she has finished all of her parvo shots. I think there are three parvo shots, but they are not all given at once. They are given on an three week interval.

parvo is airborne, it may also be spread from the ground, other people who have handled dogs that carry the virus, or other dogs.

Puppies who have not had all parvo shots are not supposed to be taken out just like babies. Only in the house or yard that your puppy lives in.

Parvo is a virus caught from another dog. Not from grapefruit. Get your dog to the vet, it could be fatal if not treated in time.

grapefruit doesn't cause parvo!!!!!! Parvo is a virus that has an incubation period, so it just manifested itself. I hope your puppy survives
