I have an 11 yr old neutered male Beagle/Lab mix. I've had him about 10 1/2 yrs. This little guy loves me to death and cannot stand it when he is not by my side. He howls & cries whenever I leave. We have done alot of things together. Basically he's my shadow. We also have three other pets - another dog and two cats. All get along just fine.

Anyway, lately he has been peeing in the kid's bedrooms when noone else is home. He's done it twice in one room, and once in another, but that time someone was sleeping in the bed right there. He sleeps in my room and has not done it in there - yet. He has never done this before and has never had problems holding it. I know he's old but not to where he's pooping & peeing all over himself. He goes when we walk, although I have noticed he goes a little quicker than he used to.

Is this just becasue he's getting older - the peeing in the rooms when we're away, or is acting up in some sort of way? Is he protesting my being gone?

This coughing causes him to spit up part of the contents. Like he gets water down his wind pipe. I have raised the water dish and that seems to help or if I stop him from drink to much helps. Is this a common problem with miniture poodles? Any ideas on correcting the problem?

We just got an adorable all white Lhasa Apso puppy and we can't think of a good name for her. I'd like to either give her a cool Tibetan name, (as that is where the breed originated) or a name that signifies a white fluffy animal. Some names that we have come up with so far (and vetoed) are Panda, Snowy, Snowbelle, or Shiver. Nothing too girly, or cutesy! I'd really appreciate some suggestions! Thanks!

Why does my dog always have to lick, bite, nudge, push and lean on me? I pet her but she keeps coming back and bothering me--sometimes it's annoying. She doesn't do it to anyone else. I love her but she drives me crazy!

We will bring our girls to the vet soon to have them "taken care of" and I was wondering how long it would take for them to recover.

My 3 1/2 yr old male Australian Shepherd has all of the sudden taken an extreme interest in my 8 month old! He licks him non-stop, follows him everywhere, and watches him constantly. When the baby is crawling he walks along side of him, and won't leave his side. When he's crawling he pushes the baby's bottom with his nose...(which I at first thought was just part of his shepherding instincts..) and acts very anxious around the baby. He has never been like this and just started this about two days ago, he used to just ignore him, or give him an occasional lick if he had something on him! I can't take my eyes off of the dog and the baby now, although he has not done anything aggressive it's still just too close for my comfort! He is a great dog, and is wonderful with all our children! I am not understanding his behavior or sudden interest in the baby! He acts as if the baby is his! Anyone had similar expereince or any advice on why he's doing this, or just started it out of the blue?

He ate this morning and acted ok then all of the sudden he was feeling yucky. He did vomit 2 small times today. But basically has just laid around and slept most of the day. PLEASE HELP ME!
I really don't have the extra money to take him to the Vet right now!

I saw him this morning and they were “just” cleaning him up, that was at 8.30am, they get there around 7.30am, the doctor does not get in till 9am! What if there is an emergency overnight? When my girlfriend went to see him at noon they wouldn’t let her see him, and then when I came back this afternoon they wouldn’t let me see him either. First he said he is in the middle of a treatment, then that they didn’t want me to get contaminated, then that they were cleaning him up, and then that they didn’t want me to see him because of how he looked since he is depressed and he is vomiting, peeing, and has diarrhea, and had some on him. He has parvovirus, very dangerous virus for puppies. I have just recently gotten a new job, and we are very short on money, this has cost us so far around $1200.00 . My concern is that he is not being cleaned up accordingly. He does keep going to the bathroom a lot because of the virus however. It seems like every time I came by they were “just” cleaning him. I want my puppy to get well, and feel good while being in treatment. I don’t want him to be in his own feces for extended time. I understand they cannot clean after each time he vomits or “goes”, however it seems like they are letting him sit in it because of how much work it would be to clean up after him. Well I did my part and paid for him to get the best treatment without withholding anything. I love my dog and want him to get well. Should I be concerned in your opinion that there is something going on because they won’t let me see my puppy?! Or is that standard procedure for vet doctors for the good of the people? I don’t want my puppy to die because of poor treatment, I have no way of telling if they are doing their job correctly since even in the morning it took them 5 minutes before they let me go back there and they were “just” cleaning him up
