Innova is listed in the top 3 for high quality dog foods. We use it and tho it comes with a higher price tag, it is well worth it as it's better for your pup and doesn't have all the fillers some of the other brands have. Check the ingredients on the other two you asked about to see if corn meal or corn anything is in the first 2 or 3 things listed. Dogs don't digest corn very well and so it's not good to feed something that has this filler in it.

In any large breed dogs the food has always been an issue. Most breeders think they know best but it isn't always the case. I would switch to the Royal Canin for a few reasons. 1. being that is a much better quality food, 2. large breed is for any dog over 50 lbs and the royal canin is x-lg breed so it is more formulated for giant breed dogs and 3. Royal Canin has done a lot of testing and research to make sure their food is higher quality and more healthy than standard foods.

Take a look at how to grade your dogs food
How to grade your dog's food:
Start with a grade of 100:
1) For every listing of "by-product", subtract 10 points
2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry", meat, meal or
fat) reference, subtract 10 points
3) If the food contains BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin, subtract 10 points
4) For every grain "mill run" or non-specific grain source, subtract 5 points
5) If the same grain ingredient is used 2 or more times in the first five
ingredients (i.e. "ground brown rice", "brewer’s rice", "rice flour" are
all the same grain), subtract 5 points
6) If the protein sources are not meat meal and there are less than 2 meats
in the top 3 ingredients, subtract 3 points
7) If it contains any artificial colorants, subtract 3 points
8 ) If it contains ground corn or whole grain corn, subtract 3points
9) If corn is listed in the top 5 ingredients, subtract 2 morepoints
10) If the food contains any animal fat other than fish oil, subtract 2
points
11) If lamb is the only animal protein source (unless your dog is allergic
to other protein sources), subtract 2 points
12) If it contains soy or soybeans, subtract 2 points
13) If it contains wheat (unless you know that your dog isn’t allergic to
wheat), subtract 2 points
14) If it contains beef (unless you know that your dog isn’t allergic to
beef), subtract 1 point
15) If it contains salt, subtract 1 point
Extra Credit:
1) If any of the meat sources are organic, add 5 points
2) If the food is endorsed by any major breed group or
nutritionist, add 5 points
3) If the food is baked not extruded, add 5 points
4) If the food contains probiotics, add 3 points
5) If the food contains fruit, add 3 points

10) If the food contains oats or oatmeal, add 1 point
11) If the food contains sunflower oil, add 1 point
12) For every different specific animal protein source (other than
the first one; count "chicken" and "chicken meal" as only one protein
source, but "chicken" and "" as 2 different sources), add 1 point
13) If it contains glucosamine and chondroitin, add 1 point
14) If the vegetables have been tested for pesticides and are

We feed our girls Artemis Fresh Mix. Our trainer told us specifically that Pro Plan was on the bottom of the food chain and recommended we take the girls off of it immediately. Other good foods would be Wellness or Innova.

innova evo is rated really high. check about.com in the dog section. they usually review dog foods along with having a guideline for what to look for in dog foods.

Pro Plan is one of the top foods. Royal Canin has too many fillers and so does the EVO. I work for a vet and she has studied pet foods and she says the first ingredient should be a meat, like chicken, lamb or beef not beef meal or such. Use the large breed Pro Plan to help your puppy maintain a steady growth and he won't have problems with his joints either. Good luck.

'm not really a fan of any commercial food, almost all commercial food contains an ingredient called "meat and bone meal" which is, in reality, contains ground dog and cat meat and bones. My dog and cats get an all raw diet, they have no dog/cat smell, the dogs' feces disintegrate within two days, and he has a beautiful, healthy coat and teeth. Its much cheaper than any commercial food and I know what my animals are eating. I have a 160 pound St. Bernard and it costs less than $2 a day to feed him, it would be over $5 a day to feed him on any commercial diet.

We have always used Pro Plan, it's one of the best dog foods on the market.
Hope this helps.

I don't know about those brands, but I can recommend Pedrigree or Beneficial. Make sure the food is for pupps and when they are this young they should eat 3 times a day.
