As soon as you catch him (and I mean catch him - not after the fact) Take it away & sternly say "NO, bad dog!" then give him one of his toys that he's supposed to chew on. Once he starts chewing say "Good Boy!"

Also, if your dog is chewing on things like the kid's stuffed toys, don't buy him stuffed toys to chew on - he won't be able to tell the difference. same goes for if he's chewing on your leather slippers - don't get him leather toys etc...

Good Luck

Is he a puppy? If he is a puppy he is probably teething. When my Bichonpoo puppy would chew things she shouldn't I would stop her and put a bone or toy in her mouth and tell her "switch". She is 4 months old now and knows "switch" and "no bite" when it comes to biting my hands or arms etc. and I have no problem with her chewing or biting. There is also a product sold at pet stores called Bitter Apple that you can spray on furniture or other objects that keeps them from chewing. It has a bitter taste that they do not like so they won't chew it.

Try to change the toys from time to time to keep play interesting. Besides training, I suggest buying a no-chewing spray. It's pretty much a bitter liquid that whenever they chew a sprayed object, it leaves a nasty taste in their mouth and it will help discourage them from biting it again. For them to know it's bitter, you have to let him taste it. He'll get the idea after a couple of weeks.

Bitter Apple works ok...but the cheaper route is apple cider vinegar...soak a cotton ball with it and place in dogs mouth for @ 5 sec...the dog wont like the taste...then spray it on items that the dog chews on...he/she will get used to the fact thats they arent to chew on those items.

Is she a puppy? If so she will eventually grow out of it. In the meantime you get get Bitter Apple Spray. Just spray it on the furniture, when the dog licks it, they will never want to lick it agian because it tastes bad (trust me ive tried it). That can be purchased at a pet store. Make sure to give her plenty of rawhides too.
