Is the akita a stronger and more aggressive dog than the pit bull?

This is really bothering me....

I am a subscriber to Marie Claire because it's a fashion magazine that I feel is intelligent & admirable in the way it prints articles about women's rights and global issues alongside fashion news. With my December issue I got a luxury gift guide full of high-priced gift ideas... fun to browse until I got to this item on p. 29:

Designer Fido
A big, brandy-toting companion sounds great but won't fit in your condo. "Mini Saint Bernards" to the rescue! The recipe for this hip hybrid is top secret. ($1000, www.puppyhaven.biz).

You'll see if you check out the website it's clearly a puppy mill of the worst caliber. I am so disappointed in MC I plan to write to the editor. She welcomes all feedback at joannacoles@hearst.com. Please join me in letting her know puppy mill hybrids are definitely not hip!

My puppy was killed by a coyote.

She was such a great doggy, so sweet and innocent.

I want to hunt this coyote down and ripped it's guts open just like it did to my doggy.

He has a painfull muzzel and seem very unsteady on his feet. Also drinking alot of water. Been to vets and had a jab to reduce the swelling and they have said it could be a sting of some sort, but after the injection wore off the swelling returned. Can't think of any thing he has eaten that could have caused this.

Well, The MP's are willing to take the neighbor girls witness as proof that my neighbor took my dog out of our yard to mate with his b i t c h. But, they asked, what do I want them to do abut it? T-Bone is unharmed, and due to his nature and the area we live in was never really in any danger (odds are my neighbor meant to put him back, but T-Bone got away).

As a recap, T-Bone is a pittie and my neighbor wanted to breed him to his G. Pyranees. Of course I refused. He was supposed to be at work, so since it was a nice day I left T-Bone in my secured and tested (not padlocked, that isn't allowed) yard, the only way for hime to get out was for a human to open the gate. When I got home T-Bone was running free and later on I was told by a neighbor girl that she saw the other neighbor letting the dogs "play piggy-back".

I am very angry, the evidence is acceptable to the authorities, but what do I want to do about it?

I am moving to Hawaii from Washington State. After having my dogs shots updated, and a microchip implanted in his chest, what else do I need to know about Hawaii's laws on bringing my dog with me, and keeping him out of qaurantine? I want to try to have everything done beforehand, to avoid a lengthy $50.00 a day quarantine. (which I've heard could be up to 4 months!) He is a 2 yr. old Toy Pom. We are Leaving in 35 days. He will be getting the implant and any shots needed, within a week. Please Help! I'm running out of time, and I'm pretty illiterate with computers. I cant even find a helpful website besides this one. Oh, my dog has not been altered if it makes any difference.

I don't want her for fighting, and i want to buy it from someone who knows about her backround. I refuse to get a dog that has already started to be trained to fight ( i think that that is cruel). I already know that i want her to be white with blue eyes and maybe some light brown spots. I am in NC, and i am willing to travel (short distance)

Another question: The legal limit for dogs in my city is supposed to be 3, and i already have four, they are all registered (through my vet) and we keep them in our yard at all times. And they are all male so there is no worry that our yard alone would make more dogs, but seeing that nobody has said anything about us paying an extra fine, is it safe to assume that we are in the clear?

My two dogs were adopted within 2 months of one another. The first dog, a westie/jrt mix 1yo female, is the larger of the two at 15lbs. The second dog, a chi/italian greyhound mix 3yo female is smaller at 5lbs. These dogs get along famously. They were introduced on neutral ground and have played since day one.

When the westie mix gets excited during their play she'll start sort of howling/crying/whining all the while her tail wagging behind her. Is she just so worked up she feels the need to shout? She sometimes barks in her play bow too to say.. hey let's play!

The chi will play happily until she's had enough and then out of nowhere she will growl and get in the Westie's face aggressively putting her snout on the westie's snout (almost nipping at her nose) to say, that's enough!

Is this proper dog communication? Tails wag until the Chi's had enough, then the Westie knocks it off quick once the Chi lays down the law. The Westie just seems like such a puppy.

Our Boxer has very small teeth that abrley poke out of his gums. He LOVES to chew on rawhides adn has zero interest in stuffed animals, balls or other toys liek that,. His rawhide is too ahrd though and it makes his gums bleed b/c his teeth are too small to really chew it up much! Do they make softer rawhides that will be easier fo rhim but still take him awhiel to gnaw on? He gets soft treats, butI'm talking about a bone that he can sit and work on...

My son and I want a dog so bad! These are the breeds we were able to agree on (when it comes to cuteness. xD) We want something small, calm, and loving. Not yappy dogs that bite. Can someone tell me of their experiences with the following breeds?

Italian Greyhound
Longhaired Chihuahua
Papillon
Pomeranian

In your opinion, which would suit our needs better?

This question is mainly for people with small dogs. what places do you take them with you to? I know at our malls they aren't allowed, but I still see people walking around with them. Video stores, banks...?? I want to take mine with me, but don't want to get asked to leave everywhere I go. I know grocery stores and restaraunts are off limits. But where can I take her besides Petsmart and Petco?
