Hi Barbie, It's really hard to place a blind dog in a home. That's probably why the owner just like him go. If you can't find a home, which is very slim. You would have to take him to the aspca. They probably will put the little guy down. I know this is a terrible thing to do,but when they can't place an animal, and none of the staff wants him,he is gone. Jack Russell are a pretty small dogs. Don't you think you could keep him,and leave him in your house. I would really think this over. A Friend.

Keep him for a few days to give the owner time to post fliers and place an add in the paper, and like chetco said, call all of the vets in the area.If there is no sign of an owner in 72 hours, try to find a Jack Russell rescue organisation,or a no-kill shelter,or try to place him yourself. He will obviously need a very special and devoted owner, bless his heart.Good luck with the little doggy.

If you can not keep the dog may I suggest you check with your local nursing homes first alot of nursing homes recomend adopting animals for the elderly. If that still didnt work contact your local pet stores some will take the animals in and find them homes for free,or may have information on where to go.

Well maybe make some posters and post them around town. Also you could call your local vet and ask them for advice on what to do! What would be best for the dog and such. If you dont mine me asking do you live in a city? - Someone might of just let him go. He may have some major health issues.

call the humane shelter, see if they have had any calls for a blind jack russell. if not they would likely put him to sleep if you drop him off there.

the first hing when vet offices open, call each of them in your area. they would remember such a patient, and one of them will have contact records.
call your local shelters, to see if he is reported lost.
feed him food in small amounts only, but offer water at all times..
