What should I get my dog for christmas? I mean I need presents under the tree and stocking stuffers. My dogs been a very good boy and even though he made a few mistakes it doesnt change how well hes acted. He is a blue teacup chihuahua and hes about a little longer then my thy. What things could I buy him?

Ok so I have an aussie that needs training. Should i get a choke chain or halter? I know a chain will work in the house training part but will a head halter?

does well with young children, does not shed, and needs minimum to moderate exercise? Would like it to be house dog under 50 pounds.

My 4 month old black lab had to be sedated in order to get skin samples around her eyes. She was tested for mites but was negative. Anyway, they had to sedate her for it because she's so energetic and does not sit still and the vet didn't want to poke her in the eye. She also had a broken nail and it had to be cut way down and she now has it wrapped. Since we got home she has aten, but she won't drink any water. She also won't lay down or sleep. She just whines and whines. She also has the runs and has been going all over the house. I can't get her just to relax and sleep it off. I've tried getting her to lay on her favorite blanket, but she won't lay. I've sat there rubbing her belly but she gets up shortly. I've tried so many other things and she won't relax and sleep. Any tips to get her to relax and sleep and any tips on how to care for her until she's back to her normal energetic self?

My husband and I hunt deer and I am wondering what cuts to feed my dog......like we usually don't save the legs but can the dog have the legs as a RMB or treat because there is not much meat on the bottom part of the legs just bone. Just wondering how to cut it up for my dog. Thanks!!

my dog was taking 50mg of deramax daily for arthritis, he had been on it for 6 weeks had blood work done and one of his liver enzymes were elevated so the vet said give it to him every other day which made a huge diffferance he was falling alot and wetting his bed.and one of his legs was super stiff.i figured after the holidays he would have to be euthanized so i asked the vet if i could give him the deramaxx everyday since what did it matter if it effected his liver at least he would feel better.my dog is doing so good now no more piddling in his bed he gets up and walks out side i help him up and down the stairs he walks around the yard does he buissiness. he eats well i make him every thing i also started giving him cosequin.i thought i might try some marin or denosyl to help his liver. if he was really suffering wouldnt he just lie there moaning and not eat and make no effort to do anything i know he is old.i want to have more blood work done to see if anything changed .

he is a 3 year old chihuahua, and he has always been totally in love with my other pets. i have 2 cats, a bearded dragon, 2 guinea pigs, and a chinchilla. he hates one of my cats, and also the chinchilla, but he is best friends with my other cat. and whenever i hold my lizard (bearded dragon) he always comes next to her and licks her head really gently and lays down beside her. and whenever i hold my guinea pigs, he always runs up to them and licks them, and then cuddles next to me and them.
is this okay? that he cuddles with them and licks them? and also he protects them ALOT. he won't let anyone but me go near them.
is this normal? should i encourage it?
should i encourage the other behavior too (licking, cuddling etc.). my other pets don't seem to mind at all.
and he and my cat wrestle and chase each other and play all the time.

monday my bassett hound was hit by a car,i heard the car hit her and her yelp a few times.i ran to see where she was.but went the wrong way.when i finally found her.she was in a driveway that was down hill.the rd was up higher.so i dont know if it flew her in that drive way.i know i didnt hear any breaks squeel.and there always speeding on this rd.but when i found her it was too late but i took her to the vet anyway.she was doa. the vet said she died at impact but how when i heard her yelp and then heard nothing.does this make sence to you?just wanted to add i have a fence yard we still can see how she got out. but how could she die at impact i heard her yelp.

he has never been that fond of dog treats, and he is 3 years old and 14 pounds. (he is a long-haired chihuahua--the vet said that his weight is fine, because he is big for a chihuahua, so he's not fat or anything.) i've tried several different brands of dog treats, but he just doesn't like them. i have tried small ones, big ones, meaty ones, cheesy ones, chewy ones, crunchy ones etc. and he just doesn't like them. but he LOOOOOVES cat treats. i have 2 cats also, so there is always plenty of cat treats around, and he just goes crazy for them. are they okay for him to eat? i was giving him some today, and on the label it had a chart of how many to give a cat. should i follow that label for a dog? it said for a cat weighing 10-14 pounds, that 20-30 treats per day is a good amount. should i give my dog that much? i gave him about 10, and i gave my cat (who is also 14 pounds) 20.
advice?

I am very confused right now. I have a Doberman Pinscher, he is a young 7 years old. 6 months ago he got diabetes, I have to give him 2 insulin shots a day. I found out the other day that he is going blind, in about a week or so he will be totally blind (according to the doctor). They suggested a cataract surgery, but those of you know about that surgery know that it is a pretty steep price. Please don't spite me for not wanting to do the surgery, I have long thought about possible outcomes/advantages/disadvantages etc...I am still considering about the surgery but just not sure if I can manage the payment right now. I love my dog dearly, and he is so young, which is why tossing around the idea of putting him to sleep sounds so cruel right now to me. But I'd rather not have him be blind. Also with him being diabetic I have no clue what the "quality of life" is for him. Any suggestions, comments, ideas, will help. Please realize that I really do care for my dog and want the best for him

My dog will not touch his dog food. I have tried all kinds of dog food and he turns his nose up to it and eats all of the cat food. My husband says that it might not be good for him because he may not be getting all of the beneficial nutrients that dogs need. Any suggestions?

I hosed out the carpet really well and then dried it all. I then put lots of pet odor remover and also febreeze. It does not smell awful but you can still smell it. I would just like some advice on how to fix this.

My dog licks everything, all the time. He is constantly licking himself, the floor, the couch, my clothes, blankets, you name it...he just licks and licks and it drives me crazy...what is this and what can I do? NO...I don't intend to feed my pup booze...but yesterday I spilt a cesar on the floor and my boyfriend suggested I let the dog get it...this didn't seem smart to me, especially since the Clamato has onions and garlic in it, so of course I didn't let the dog have it.

My boyfriend then told me that he's let the dog drink spilt beer too...this just doesn't seem right to me and if it isn't I need some good arguments to convince my boyfriend.

I wouldn't really encourage my dog to eat anything off the floor, since it is a dirty floor and who knows what else he is getting, but one battle at a time I suppose.
