I want to get a Papillon puppy oneday and I want a female with black and white color...but I read in other websites that males are more lovable and want to be with you more and I read that female papillons are not so lovable with you?...is it true??...(I don't want him/her to ignore me all the time T_T)...I wouldn't mind getting a male but I don't know if male papillons grow bigger then the female (I prefer one to stay small)...I know that the purebreed Papillons are small but I want to know if the male and femalle have the same size or does the male get bigger? ^ ^;

please and thanks!

I work full time at a non-profit humane society ... and I am DAMN PROUD OF IT!!! :o)

I just wanted to see if there are any other shelter employees out there? And, I want to see if there are stories any of you would like to share- about how hard it is to work there, how you feel about euthanasia/open door vs. "no kill" shelters, and if you feel successful and awesome every day because you know you are saving animals lives every time you punch that time clock??

And also I want to give a huge thumbs up to any shelter employees or volunteers who dedicate their time and hard work to help save these wonderful, homeless animals!! :o)

I have a mini dachshund dog and whenever he takes a bath he starts to whine and rolls on his side twitching like he is having spazims. I check the water temp and everything and everything is to a normal degree for a dog of his size and fur stature, but when I pick him out of the water when he starts this he stops, Is my dog spazing because he doesnt want a bath or is he just a special dog?
I have called the vets and they didnt know why he would do it either.

my boyfriend takes the dogs to work with him. they both go for long walks during the day. they have to be left in the van for between 15 and 20 minutes. when my boyfriend returns he finds my jack russell has peed on his seat. it seems as soon as my boyfriend gets out of the van, my dog pees. It is getting very annoying for my boyfriend as my dog doesnt do it in my car. someone help me!!!

My dog is home alone and crated during the day. At least 8 hours sometimes 9. Then she is crated again overnight when we go to sleep. She's only been with us a couple of weeks but I feel like she's in the crate too many hours of the day. I want to experiment with having her out of the crate but fenced off in a specific area of the house. My fiance thinks she'll start chewing and destroying the house and that she has to be crated for at least a year. Who's right?

My basset hound spins around in circles really fast when she is being "defiant" or doesn't want to do something. Like for some reason, she will not come down our basement stairs, so I'll tell her to come down in a really serious voice and she spins in circles :) That's just one of the funny things she does, I could go on forever.

I am considering an electric / invisible fence to confine my Jack Russel to my yard approx (3/4 acre in quiet suburb with no busy traffic). I have been researching various brands and reviews but am getting conflicting evidence for and against. Any experiences you can share or advice you can give would be much apprecitated. My JRT is just a pup but likely to be pretty strong willed. I want to confident before installing an invisible fence to ensure her safety.....thanks....

Last night my 4 month old Australian Shephard was apparently dognapped out of my yard by a coyote and killed.

I took my 10 month old AS with me to go find her and he found her body in an adjacent property with her guts hanging out.

Now my 10 month old AS just looks sad all the time. In the past he used to jump on everyone cause he was happy all the time but now he just approaches us but doesn't jump, just kinda groans. I mean he was high energy but now he seems like he has no energy at all.

So what can we do? Get another puppy for him to play with? He really loved her and always played with her.

Ok, my dog is a horrible dog! Well she's not but she destroys everything when we are out, we have had her for 2 years and if anything she is getting worse, today we came home and she has ripped my carpet in two....straight down the middle! half of it is shredded to pieces the other half is ok (as if that really matters!) anyway bofriend has had enough, he said I have 2 weeks to find the dog a new home or he is leaving, the problem I have is my kids love this mutt and are gutted she has to go. I have to choose whether to break my kids heart and get rid of the dog or loose my boyfriend...what would you do????

by the way before anyone says anything i know she does it because of seperation anxiety, we have tried everything from putting her in a cage (she tips it over) tying her up (she destroyed everything within her reach and chewed a little hole in the wall ...she was muzzled aswell!) and left her outside but she digs under the fence and runs round in the road!
