It is tricky to get a dog to stop doing it's business once it is started. Besides, telling them no can confuse them since they are outside . . which is where they are trained to go. HOWEVER, people should ALWAYS pick up after their pets. I try really hard to not let my dogs even walk on people's lawns, but it does happen. They usually go on the grass between the sidewalk and the street, though - which I always pick up. If you have a problem with particular people . . . maybe try stopping and talking to them. Good luck!

You can be polite and get right to the point with this concern. Place a small well written sign in your yard asking dog walkers to respect your property. If you can, pay attention to what time of day this is happening and be outside at the same time. If the Walkers notice you and the sign, you should have a positive response. If that doesn't work, collect the waste for a day or two and return it to their lawn.

I presume its the dogs that are doing this not the people?

1)Put a large watering device out there( sprinkler) and when the owners bring their dogs along and stand there allowing their stinking beast to foul your lawn Turn it on full bore and wet them both.

2) After the event collect it up on a shovel and throw it at them as they walk away. Or follow them home and throw it on their doors and windows. I did this to a neighbor who said "lil kimmy was very good he did his little jobbies elsewhere never at home"

No the Prig was fouling my doorstep. I told them and they laughed, so I collected it and splattered it against their picture window and doorstep on several occasions. They moved!

3) get a few containers of pepper and spread on lawn prior to the event in the areas that are constantly used. Dogs tend to do it where others have and sniff the area. Pepper is a wonderful deterrent. But option 1 and 2 are more fun

You can't watch your front lawn 24/7. There's a reason why dogs pick your lawn - they can smell that other dogs have been there. You can buy chemicals to get rid of that smell, then dogs will walk by your yard and go somewhere else.

Spell check would be a good idea..But to answer your question...Considerate people clean the poop (two o's) up after their dog. Not sure how anyone can clean up pee (2 e's). If you don't want either, and you know positively who it is, confront them nicely when they are walking their dogs. Most pet owners will respect your wishes. Not sure who it is?? Out up a sign or a fence so they know, or can't get to your lawn..A sign like "we don't pee or poop on your lawn, please don't let your dog pee or poop on ours!" To the point, but not rude.

Well you could put up some kind of fence to prevent them from even coming onto your lawn in the first place. Their is no need to spend alot of money you can just get a small fence put up.

You could sit on your front porch with a shot gun and watch them walk by. Once they see you they will not walk on your lawn. Then you will build up the reputation of being that crazy guy with the shot gun and no one will walk near your lawn anymore. Good Luck, and Happy Holidays. *Ask Santa for a 12 gauge.

People in my neighbourhood walk their dogs right up our sidewalk and down our driveway to the park next door. Baby strollers too, kids on skateboards, bikes etc.The entrance to the park is literally 20 footsteps away. We have asked them to stop and we are to shut up and kiss my (_Y_). We can't watch them 24-7. I just don't get it!

First I would try and put up a sign politely asking not to allow their pets to relieve themselves on your lawn.

Maybe write it on a Beware of Dog sign. ; )

If that doesn't work...Get a NO DUMPING sign.

This is a serious answer but you might not agree:

Put a wooden quality sign on your lawn saying:

Stop your dog pooping on my lawn,
I know who you are and I will prosecute!

(Or words to that affect)
