Bigger breeds dont live as long as smaller breeds. Depending on the dogs overall health he should live between 10 and 15 years. If he is in good health he will live closer to 15 years, however if hes in poor health he will live closer to 10 years.

We had a golden retriever, and our dog died at age 16. I believe retrievers and labs have similar life expectancies. We had to put her to sleep because she had cancer that became debilitating. I have heard of both shorter and longer. So, just make sure you keep your dog healthy for a long life. :)
