Working collies or pet collies? A working herding dog will require a diet higher in calories than a pet dog. Either way, dog food. Don't ask your vet, he will probably sell you Science Diet. This is a poor quality food at a premium price.
Do ask your vet about heartworm preventative. Some collies show sensitivity to the drugs used for this, so be sure to find an appropriate brand.

Just like any dog---it depends. Ask the breeder what she was fed....but don't start 'catering' to a dog. I've never had a dog go over 5 days without eating...
You should know that rough Collies seem to have a lot of skin problems. No matter what she likes, try for a sweet potato & duck diet.

If she's anything like most dogs, garbage, old food, and anything else that smells appealing to her! What she SHOULD be eating is a high quality dry dog food that is best suited to her lifestyle (i.e. is she a senior? Is she extremely active? Does she have skin allergies? Is she a puppy?).
