The best is to go to the website for the national club for the breed in question. They will have a breeder's directory, either online or just a phone call away.

so far the websites posted are filled with a majority of backyard breeders so I can't say they are good breeder websites. The best suggestion I have is for you to visit the akc website at http://www.akc.org and pick a breed you like. Once you pick a breed you can then look up the breed club on google. I personally breed boxers and their breed club is the American Boxer Club. You would type in American xxxx Club to find the correct breed club you are looking for. Most breed clubs have websites and also have breeder referrals that are to REPUTABLE breeders.

If you are interested in Boxers I can give you a bunch of great boxer breeders websites: http://www.cinemaboxers.com http://www.pro-boxers.com she has a list of a ton of reputable american and overseas breeders, my personal website is http://www.terregale.com

I do not have many dogs, in fact I only have 1 boxer right now and a male aussie but I want to stay small and provide all my dogs with the individual attention they deserve. Another great place to find breeders is to attend a dog show in your area. You can find a show schedule at http://www.infodog.com
Watch the dogs in the rings and once they are done in the rings you can talk to the handlers/breeders. You can also walk through the set-up area and meet a bunch of people there.

you need to be a bit more specific... what kind of dog... what do you mean by good website or is it good breeders? Just beware... even a crappy puppy mill can make it's website look and sound wonderful, there is nothing to replace good old fashioned leg work and actually going to visit the breeder!

Oooooh, get ready for the onslaught of people telling you to NEVER buy off of the internet! Anyhoo, if you are looking for breeders, you just type in the name of the breed you are looking for and the word "puppies" and you will get tons of websites! I would have listed some if you had named a specific breed.

the site www.pets4you.com screens its breeders carefully, and if a breeder gets even one complaint, they are removed from the site..so, it is a good source to find reputable breeders..
However, the very best place to find the dog of your dreams, is here> http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?action=1&pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=&pet.Age=Young&pet.Size=S&pet.Sex=&location=MN&preview=1&scope=0&x=16&y=7
Just put in your own zip code, the gender you prefer, the age, and the breed..and you will likely find the perfect companion right in your own area..You will be amazed at what wonderful dogs they have listed!
