Whenever I give my Chihuahua a bath after that I see some white flaky stuff on his coat. Is this dryness? What should I do to avoid it? how harmful is it for my Dog? He has also started showing dis-interest towards his food. Are these two things related? Please Help!!!

I'm 18 years old. I have a nine year old poodle mix. I want to adopt another dog to keep him company. We've lived in this house for over 10 years and all of his friends have moved or died or something. What kind of dog is good with other dogs and is perferably under 15 lbs?

I have a German Shepherd mix. She is approximately 14 months old. She is a very large dog. I don't seem to understand why she likes to tip her bowl and drop the food on the floor. She starts off pushing out her food with her nose, eventually she tips the bowl over and makes a mess all over the floor. It seems like she prefers to eat off the floor. Is this normal behavior?

My puppy is mixed and he has sensitive skin. so we think.
He doesn't have fleas. he was checked and is on frontline but he kept itching so the vet gave us this Pramoxine Hydrochloride 1% Relief Shampoo and the itching stopped but only for about 3 weeks. he started itching again a few days ago. So I gave him a bath today and he hasn't itched since... but I don't wanna dry out his coat.

Is giving him a bath every three weeks or just whenever he starts itching a lil too much bad for him? ( i know some itching is ok/normal ) Or because he has sensitive skin and because i'm using that kind of shampoo its ok?

is there anything I should or could put him on to help prevent drying out his coat?

He is an inside dog but I take him out every two hours for a walk and twice a day for 30-hour min run on my bike or skates to help keep him healthy and thin.

She was been so good for the last couple of weeks. We actually went out and didn't crate her on Saturday. She didn't destroy anything and was sleeping when we got home. We left her again on Sunday for 2 hours and same thing, good as gold.
Monday morning she woke up and hasn't stopped getting into things since! She managed to chew the zipper off of her bed, rip apart a set of bells I had hanging on the door, grab shoes and take off with them and rifle through the garage...ALL WHILE I'M AT HOME!!! She is barking at everything, even the dog across the street that she hasn't barked at in 3 weeks.
I have sprayed her with water, closed the blinds , let her out a million times, tried to cuddle her, give her the Quiet command...I've even yelled at her...which ,by the way, I NEVER DO! I'm at my wits end with her. I'm going to try to take her for a walk to burn off some of this negative energy she has.
Please give me your opinion. Any suggestion is appreciated.

It seems that every other person on here has a Chihauhau. I'm not insulting, but could someone please tell me what's so great about them? They're not my personal choice for a dog, but why are they so popular with everyone else? Is this a trend thing?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and to own whatever breed they choose, I'm not putting anyone down. But what happened that made the Chihuahua so popular?

He is only 6 lbs., and using the whole dose of Frontline always seems like too much. If I only use half will it be as effective? Will the other half keep after the package is opened? This would really save a lot of money. Thanks

I've always wanted one but not for breeding purposes, just as a pet. I live in FL and I'm not sure where to get one. Most people I know have to get them from a breeder and I'm not looking for a show dog. Just one I can take care of as a pet. I know wome people will sell them to you and ship them by mail, but I'd rather see it in person to know that's what I want. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanx!

My Boston Terrier has a little ball that she is in love with. She has to have it with her all the time and will ignore what is going on around her to be with this ball. I was wondering if anyone else's Boston is obsessive about a certain toy.
