My puppy is mixed and he has sensitive skin. so we think.
He doesn't have fleas. he was checked and is on frontline but he kept itching so the vet gave us this Pramoxine Hydrochloride 1% Relief Shampoo and the itching stopped but only for about 3 weeks. he started itching again a few days ago. So I gave him a bath today and he hasn't itched since... but I don't wanna dry out his coat.

Is giving him a bath every three weeks or just whenever he starts itching a lil too much bad for him? ( i know some itching is ok/normal ) Or because he has sensitive skin and because i'm using that kind of shampoo its ok?

is there anything I should or could put him on to help prevent drying out his coat?

He is an inside dog but I take him out every two hours for a walk and twice a day for 30-hour min run on my bike or skates to help keep him healthy and thin.

bathing isnt necessarily going to dry out his coat. ive found that oatmeal shampoo is really good for itchy dogs. i have many dogs and this always helps them. i bathe my dogs about once every 2 weeks.

You should bath him no more than twice a month. Plus Oatmeal shampoo is great for there skin. Also you might want to change his food. Lower quaility food doesnt benifit the skin. Try a higher quality food like Science Diet. I had the same problem with shepard and it went away in a week. When you dog is older you (adult more than a year) you can senstive skin fomula. Until than try to change his diet. Remember to switch slowly over a 7 day period. first two days 75% old food and 25% new food. third and fourth day 50% old food to 50% new food .5 and 6 day 75
% new food 25%old food. 7th all new food.

canines regularly get a shower each 6 months . in case you opt to be great stable nonetheless bath the canines no greater effective than as quickly as a month or thier coat will dry up. As for a domestic dog this is a stable theory to get him used to being bathed as youthful as conceivable - just to make existence greater common on you whilst he's greater. It would not must be an entire on bath the two - in easy terms a rinse (no cleansing soap) that way his coat won't get dry and the domestic dog gets used to bath time

Believe it or not, the Frontline could be the cost of that. These kind of treatments are pesticides and harm a dog or better any animal more then you think. It will destroy there little kidneys and livers. I can't keep stressing to all dog lovers to check out the site petmedicinechest.com. You're going to be shocked about the mistakes people make with their animals. Good luck!
