I have 2 of them right now and this is for those who are against the breed. Do you judge case by case? Do you just look at the dog and decide that it is a horrible animal? What causes you to call a pit a bad dog. Statistics have shown that chows and rotties are just as dangerous as pits. I love all the dogs and believe that the breeds danger level is purely on their size apposed to the "breed". When different human races were attacked and judged on different levels it was always bad. When wild animals were hunted for being "bad" it always was recanted and now they are protected. Has killing and attacking what we don't understand or are afraid of EVER helped ANYTHING in history? Judge the deed NOT the breed.

We have a 12 year old Lab(Lucy) who is shedding quite a bit right now. Granted we had a few days here in Indy that were above normal temps, but its back to normal now. Is this something that's harmless or is it something to be concerned about?

Why didn't you think about all this BEFORE you got the dog?

A dog shouldn't be an impulse purchase...

For those of you who have taken in strays or rescued puppies from fires, I don't blame you for asking, but those who go out and buy dogs...how can you purchase an animal and ask questions later?

I'll bet most people can tell us more about their new vehicle and how to care for it then they can their new dog.

Sorry if I offend anyone. I just don't understand!

I have a puppy, hes around 3 months old. And almost everyday he pukes, and just starting today his poop will be clear and liquid or really runny. My dad says its from his toys but I cant see how that would affect him.

My 1 year old lab/retriever mix. Is constantly jumping on me. Obedience class are not an option because as a puppy she had parvo. I have read a lot of training books and have tried, kneeing her, she just learn to jump you from behind, I tried to be a statue that didn't phase her. I've tried keeping her on a leash, than stepping on the leash...nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Hello, I just got a chi and I am feeding her that pedigree soft food, the one that comes in the pouches. She had diarhia yesterday, so I gave her a bit of pedialite, and she woke up and pooped a healthy looking stool. I am not sure if i am feeding her the right stuff. Any suggestions?

My Chihuahua is about 5 years old and weighs only 4lbs. She, like most Chihuahuas has a very big personality. She's dominant but still really sweet and not aggressive. I'd like to get a large dog (80-100lbs.). Are there any breeds that stand out as being good around very small dogs?

I wrote earlier about my problems with my nearly 5 month olf female brussels griffon. I am setting her up for Obedience school starting 12/23/06 because she is so out of control , destroying everything and leaking and pooing all over. My husband wanted to get rid of her and even though my patience is thin I wanted to give her a chance. At the same time I need to get her spayed. I set up an appointment for the 27th of December. 3 days before her next class. I know she needs down time but I also heard if you spay the dog there behavior gets better and of course is better for them health wise. Is this wise for her too be doing two things at once. Should I just skip on class and return on the 6th of January. I shouldnt put off the surgery because then she would be almost 7 months.

Advice only. No preaching. Thank you for your respect

FIRST OF ALL NO HARSH RESPONSES........

I have always loved animals, especially dogs, ever since I was little. My whole life, I have never been a baby person. I just don't think they are that cute. I'm recently 8 months pregnant and I do want kids, but I'm worried that I wont love my child as much as my dog. My dog is extremely attached to me as I am to her. Has anyone ever experienced this sort of thing before?

My husband and I just got a new puppy, we where told when we got her that she was house broken. Well after cleaning up so much pee and poo in our house we have come to the conclusion that she is NOT house broken. We have been using the crate method of potty training and its just not working that great. Maybe we are doing it wrong, but she just does not get it. She is an 8 month old mutt ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPOIPT4uRvM ) and her name is Courtney. Right now we have been keeping her in her crate and only letting her out to eat and go to the bathroom. When she does go potty outside we praise her, give her a treat, and let her play in the yard with us or around the house with us for 15 minutes. The problem we are having is that she takes forever to go to the bathroom outside. Sometimes it takes 4 trips outside (each lasting about 15 minutes with 30 minutes between trips) before she finally goes to the bathroom. Sometimes we think she has to go but just holds it anyways. Like today, its 6am here and the last time she went to the bathroom was 8pm last night, and that was on our hallway floor. We tell her NO when she goes inside but she just does not seem to care. She pees when she gets excited, and she gets excited over everything. I work at home and because we just moved to a new house I’m closed down for a few weeks. So I have about 3 weeks to work with her on this before I have to start work again. We get up at 3am and go to bed at 8pm, can someone help me come up with a good schedule for me and my husband to fallow with our dog.
