Hello, I just got a chi and I am feeding her that pedigree soft food, the one that comes in the pouches. She had diarhia yesterday, so I gave her a bit of pedialite, and she woke up and pooped a healthy looking stool. I am not sure if i am feeding her the right stuff. Any suggestions?

I am a Chihuahua breeder, I can't imagine a breeder letting her puppy go without telling you what brand of feed to keep her on (plus give you a big sample)
ANY change in food will upset their little tummies.
You need to check with a vet and let him recommend a good food for her. Just realize vets are given free samples to push certain brands of dog food....so just because a vets office carry a specific brand of feed DOES NOT mean it is a good one.
You are going to get several different opinions on feed. Personally, I fees Canadae All Stage.
When the puppies are just beginning to eat food, I soak it with water to form a mush. I slowly wean them off soaked feed and use dry feed only.
I have a list of things (a very long list) to do when you get a small breed like a Chihuahua. If you would like, I will be happy to send the list to you. It is very helpful to new owners.

Stop feeding her wet food, and pedialyte is not made to treat diarrhea in pets.

Start her with a high quality pet food, like Nutro Puppy. You can continue to mix it with the wet food at first, because she probably will not want to eat it until she is used to it. Gradually stop with the wet food, until she is completely on hard food.

If you just got her recently, she may have diarrhea b/c she is not used to eating the food you are feeding her. I would suggest contacting the breeder and asking what brand of food she was eating there. That is the best way to make sure her stomach doesn't get upset.

Good luck!

Give here puppy food. You have you choice between hard food and wet food. There is nothing wrong with giving her only hard food. Plus get a small bite food.
If she is still having diarihha(cant spell) and she is still playing and acting like a puppy give it fewdays before going to the vet.
But if she look sick or acting funny go to the vet!
Feed a high quality puppy small bites food like science diet.

not sure what food to feed her, but as for the diarhia Peptobismol is what you should give her. I gave that to my dog when she ate a bag of mixed nuts, during the holidays. Thats what the vet told me to do.
Hope it helps

Feed your dog a good quality dry kibble, it'll be better for her teeth. I feed my two 10 pound dogs Innova Evo. It's a dry kibble made of meats and vegetables only. No grain, and is good for all their life stages so no need to switch between puppy to adult to senior food.

Please find a better quality food. Second to avoid diahreah you need to give her dry food and get her on a food that you will consistantly give. Give dry food allows for easier potty training.
