It actually depends on the vet on how much they're going to charge you, and what grade the luxating patella is, they grade it from scale 1-5 and some of them don't need to have surgery just go and visit your vet and let them evaluate your dog, so they can decide if your dog need surgery.

It really depends on your veterinarians office. Where I worked our regular vets did not do this surgery, we had it performed at our facility by a board certified surgeon, so the price was abit more, but well worth it. I would discuss the cost with your vet.
