I've always wanted one but not for breeding purposes, just as a pet. I live in FL and I'm not sure where to get one. Most people I know have to get them from a breeder and I'm not looking for a show dog. Just one I can take care of as a pet. I know wome people will sell them to you and ship them by mail, but I'd rather see it in person to know that's what I want. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanx!

go to petfinder.com.....this is a site for rescue groups.....just enter your Zip code, and enter breed wanted, and be AMAZED at how many great choices you have !!.....i recently adopted a Great Pyrenees mix from them, and my dog Sylvester is awesome !!.....check it out.....try it.....do a good deed.....adopt a Pomeranian today !!!.....good luck to you, in your search for a Pomeranian as a new pet !!!!.....most adoptions run between $ 50 to $ 200 maximum, for a wonderfull dog, who will be very happy to be your new pet !!!

Sometimes the breeders will recommend a pom to you that for some reason or another cannot be a show dog. Check it out and also let your local animal shelters know you are looking. They always keep people in mind when certain breeds come in.

Reputable breeders will sell dogs they call pet-quality that don't have the right conformation for showing or breeding but still make great pets. Also you should think about adopting one, try petfinder.com
